For example: T: Ladies and gentlemen,we learned something about the seasons and the weather .So how many seasons are there in a year? Ss: There are four. T: What are they? Ss: They are spring,summer,fall and winter. T: Whats the weather like in spring? Ss: Its warm. T: “Whats the weather like in spring” we can also say Ss: How is the weather in spring? T: Wow,not that bad.Now, please turn to Page 87and read the words and expressions in Grammar&Functions together. 2、Show students some places of interest in China,and the last one is Kaiyuan Temple.Then teach the phrase: places of interes (present it on the blackboard). T: Look at the pictutes.Do you know what they are and where they are? Ss: 长城,故宫,天坛,秦兵马俑,开元寺。 T: Yes,you all know their names.But what are they in Chinese? Ss: . T: We call cabbage,carrot,cucumber vegetable.So what are these in Chinese? Ss: 名胜古迹。 T: Yes.They are places of interes.(PPT:places of interes )Read after me, places of interest.T: Do you know where the Kaiyuan Temple is? Its in Chaozhou.The summer holidays are coming.I plan to get together with my roommates in Chaozhou.(Repeat it)(暑假的时候我打算去潮州和我大学室友们团聚一下)Here,we know “together” means“一起”,right?So,read after me,together.3、Talk about summer holiday plans with students,and lead to 1a. T:I plan to go to Chaozhou and meet my roommates there this summer holiday.What about you?What do you plan to do on your holiday?Do you want to play?Of course I believe.So where to go and what to do, we should make a plan.That is your holiday plans.But today lets find out their holiday plans first.(PPT:1b)Step 21、Have a general idea about the pictures in 1b. T: Look at them.Who are they? Ss: They are Michael,Kangkang,Jane and Maria. T: Yes.Look at the pictures above them. The first one is the CN Tower.Its in Canada.And the second one is? Ss:袋鼠。 T: Yes.They are kangaroos.Which country do they live in,do you know? Ss: Australia. T: And the third one is a birthday party,right?The last one is the Great Wall.Its in China. Step 3 1、Listen to the tape of 1a and follow it,imitating the pronunciation and intonation. 2、Listen to the tape and repeat it again.Then read the conversation together. 3、Role play the conversation:G1 read the part of Kangkang,G2 read the part of Michael,and G3 Maria,G4 Jane. 4、Ask students to find out the sentences with the same structure.Then show them the PPT(Present the sentences on the blackboard.): I want to go to Canada. I plan to go to Australia. I hope to get together with them. I wish to travel around the country. Id like to visit some places of interest in China. Step 4 1、Explain the conversation,including emphasizing some knowledge points that learned before in the PPT. 2、Ask students to read the conversation in 1a aloud together.Then show them several phrases,and ask them to make sentences with the expressions in 1c.T:OK.We all know what the childrens plans are now.
