The topic of this unit is to talk about legends and stories. The core teaching content of Section A is to learn how to tell a story. In this lesson, students can practice reading the target language in a typical English passage.二、教学目标By the end of the class, students will be able to: 1.understand the main idea and details of the text by reading strategies 2. understand the meaning of some key words(magic, ,stick, hide, tail, turninto, Western, excite,object) through context by referring to the sentences before and after them. 3.develop their reading and comprehensive skills4.be brave like the Monkey King when they face difficulties三、学习者特征分析After a year and a half of junior high school English learning, students have certain ability to use comprehensive language. In this stage students want to learn better methods to analyze and understand the context.四、教学策略选择与设计 Communicative teaching approach五、教学重点及难点 Master the new words and expressions Develop students comprehensive skill.6、 教学过程教师活动学生活动设计意图Step 1 Greeting and lead-in Greet the class and ask them what they did last weekend. Tell the story of Cinderella, show a video. Teach the new words: o; object; hide ;tail; magic; stick; excite; Western1. Ss say hello to T;2. Ss talk about what they did last weekend;3. Ss listen to the story that T talk about;4. Ss enjoy the video and learn the key words.教师通过询问学生上周末所做的事,进而谈论自己上周看的一部电影灰姑娘,然后展示图片,介绍灰姑娘的故事,在故事中穿插本课的重点词汇,播放短视频,吸引学生的兴趣,加深学生理解重点词汇。Step 2 Warming-up Show a picture of the Monkey King and ask the questions: Who is he? Do you like him? Where is he from?Ss enjoy the picture and answer the three questions. 从介绍西方的童话故事,再引入到我们东方的神话故事西游记,展示孙悟空的图片,进一步激发学生的兴趣,为引入语篇埋下伏笔。Step 3 Fast Reading Let the students read the passage quickly and ask the following questions:1. Which book is talked about?2. Who is the main character?3. What is he like?4.What are the main characters in this book?Ss read the passage quickly and answer the questions.让学生从整体上感知整个语篇内容。回顾并练习运用已学过的阅读技能skimming来解决任务。Step 4 Careful reading1.Invite one student to read Paragraph 1 and ask other students: What happened in November 1979? Invite another student to read Paragraph 2 and complete the chart in 3b. Let one student read the last paragraph and find the answer to this question: Why are children interested in reading about the Monkey King? Check the answers.2. Give students several minutes to judge the sentences below True or False. Most pupils in England watch the TV program called Monkey in 1979 for the first time. Journey to the West is a new Chinese book. Its new to Chinese children Monkey King is just a normal monkey. Monkey King can make 72 changes to his shape and size. If the Monkey King can hide his tail, he can turn himself into a person. The Monkey King uses a magic stick to fight the bad people. The Monkey Kings magic stick is so long that he cant hide it in his ear. Western children like to read this book because the Monkey King keeps fighting to help the weak and never give up. Work on 3cComplete the sentences below with phrases from the passage.Check the answers with the students.1.Ss read each paragraph carefully and get the main idea Try to find the information to answer the questions.2.Ss read the article and judge the sentences.3.Ss finish 3c.1.回顾并运用已学过的阅读技能scanning来解决任务。2.在判断正误这一环节,让全体学生用正确和错误两种不同的手势来展示答案,回答正确的可以继续站着答题,回答错误的淘汰,每个小组进行PK,最后哪组站着的同学组多则为获胜组,给予鼓励。让学生在游戏的过程中解决问题,更加活跃了课堂气氛。3.架构文章框架,让学生更清晰地对语篇进行把握,并梳理出文章的主线。Step5 Pair work 1. Peter is a foreigner. He is interested in Chinese culture. He saw a picture of the Monkey King. He wanted to know some information about the Monkey King. Can you help him?
