I will talk about the lesson from 6 parts.Part1 analysis of the teaching material1.The title is Unit7 Whats the highest mountain in the world?(3a-3c)2.Status and Function: This is a reading lesson. It mainly talks about the geography and nature. Students have learnt the comparatives before. And they have known how to change the adjectives forms. So students will easily understand the superlatives. We often compare things in our daily life. So its necessary to learn this grammar.3.Teaching aims: Knowledge objects:Students can read and spell the new words and phrases: achievement, southwestern, thick, include, freezing, condition, take in , succeed, challenge, in the face of, achieve, force, nature, even though=even ifAbility objects:Train students reading skills: make students know how to guess a words meaning by reading; make students know how to sum up the main ideas of the article by fast reading; make students know how to write a fluent essay and find the key words and phrases by carefully reading.Train students ability of working in pairs.Moral objects:To enable students to learn to face the challenges in their daily life bravely and never give up trying to achieve their dreams4. Focus and difficulties:Focus: key words and useful expressions.Difficulties: Students can use the superlatives to describe something.5. Teaching aids: BanbantongPart2 analysis of the studentsStudents have learnt English for about two years. But some students may be shy sometimes. So maybe a few students are weak in learning English. Id better make them learn in pairs to help each other.Part3 Teaching and learning methodsTeaching methods: teach English in English Task based teaching method Competition teaching method Direct teaching method Discovery teaching methodLearning methods: Working in pairs/groups Learn by oneself GuessingPart4 Teaching stepsStep1.Lead in: I will show students a picture of Qomolangma and lead students to answer the questions:What is the name of the mountain?What do you know about it?Step2.Learning aims: Show students the learning aims of the lesson:1. Students can read and spell the key words and phrases about this class.2. Students can use the superlatives to describe the daily things in their lives by learning this lesson.3. Students can face the challenges in their lives bravely and never give up achieving their dreams by learning the essay.Step3.Guessing gamesDivide students into 3 parts. Let every part read one paragraph of this essay and guess one phrase. There are three phrases: spirit of climbers; achievements of climbers; facts and dangers Then show their answers in class.Step4 Carefully read and work in groups Do 3b. I may ask students these questions to lead into the task:Do you like climbing? How about climbing Qomolangma? Then read the essay carefully and fill in the forms below. Where are the Himalayas?2. How high is Qomolangma?3. Why do so many people try to climb this mountain even though it is dangerous?4. What does the spirit of the climbers tell us? Students will be given 4 minutes to find the answer in the essay. And the teacher can also teach students how to write a fluent essay about a scenic spot through these four questions.Step6 ExerciseComplete the essay using words and phrases from the passage.One of the most _ sports in the world is mountain _, and one of the most _ places to go for this is the Himalayas.
