Unit5 what were you doing when the rainstorm came?Section B 2a-2e 教学设计教材分析:本课时内容是人教版新目标(Go for it)八年级英语下册的第五单元SectionB部分的阅读板块的内容。本版块在前几个课时所涉及的发生在学生身边的过去时态及过去进行时态的事件描述的基础上,围绕“重大的历史事件发生时,人们所做的事”即:“what were you doing when an important event happened?”而展开的一堂阅读课; 通过本节课的学习让学生能通过图片和文章标题,猜测文章的主题内容,激发学生的阅读兴趣;同时让学生学习本单元的阅读策略,学习一定的阅读技巧并在阅读中应用,最后通过问题检验学生对文章的理解,让学生了解重大的历史事件,通过这些重大事件接受人文教育;并讲述自己经历的重大难忘的事件,使他们能从中感悟生活,珍爱生命,感受人生。学情分析: 八年级下学期的学生对于知识的理解能力已有很大提高,接受知识的能力也增强很多。学生对于本阅读内容所涉及的过去时态和过去进行时态,在本单元前几个课时已打下了一定的基础,听说训练中已经得以充分练习。但对于阅读课堂来说,增强学生的阅读能力又是本节课的重点和难点,要由易到难,由浅入深,层层递进。阅读策略的学习是本节课的重点。通过图片和标题让学生猜测文章主题,并让学生根据不同的课堂活动要求选择不同的阅读方法(skim reading, Fast reading, Detail reading),让学生通过阅读获取信息,并完成读后任务,加深对文章中重点句子的理解。回顾文章的重大事件,进行复述性口语练习。教法分析: 课堂使用多媒体课件,展示本课时教学目标,教学图片等来开展教学;同时利用录音机进行辅助听力练习及复述历史事件为主的小组合作口语对话练习。具体做法:采用任务型教学法和小组互助型的自主学习法。根据2a-2e每部分的任务,指导学生看图片和标题,通过跳读,略读等方法快速掌握文章的主题,提高学生的阅读速度和准确度,同时通过速读和精读来完成细节题和整体理解找同义句的任务。最后通过小组活动,学生间的沟通交流进行提问回答的口语练习,回顾和复述重大历史事件及人们当时所做的事。教学目标:1、学生学会跳读和略读的阅读技巧,提高学生阅读能力,培养学生的语感。 2、 使学生在重大的历史事件中受到教育,对生活、生命的感悟。教学内容:1、New words and expressions: Passage, pupil, completely, silence, in silence, recently, take down, terrorist, date, tower, at first, truth2、Skim the passage to catch the main idea.教学重难点:1、Remember and use the new words and expressions. 2、To improve the reading skills.教学准备: 多媒体(multimedia),录音机(tape recorder)教学过程及活动设计: Step 1 Greeting and lead-in Warming up T: Hello, boys and girls! How are you today?Ss: I am fine./We are fine .T: What were you doing at 8:00 last night?S1: I was doing my homework.S2: I was chatting with my grandmother. T: What were you doing when the storm came last weekend?S3: I was reading in the library. T: Good! Now look at the pictures on page 38. Do you know who the man is ? And what happened to the tall building? Who knows? Say something, please.Step 2 Pre-reading.展示多媒体图片:呈现两幅图,并在学生们回答后展示两张图片的简单介绍,进行历史事件背景知识的补充. 第一幅图片解释:The man was Dr. Martin luther King. He was a great leader of the black people in modern American history. He is a kind man.He helped a lot for the people of America. His famous speech was “I have a dream.” He was murdered by terrorists in 1968. 第二幅图片解释:The second picture is about 9.11 event. Terrorists took down the building of American World Trade Center. It was on September 11, 2001. People all over the world were shocked at that time. Do 2a : Now lets look at the title of the passage. Can you guess what the passage is about? Ask the Ss to answer them. 设计的原因:介绍历史事件的背景,为学生阅读做铺垫。Step 3 while reading 1、skim reading.Ask the Ss to read the questions in 2b carefully, and skim the passage, t hen find the answers to the two questions. 引导学生找到问题答案,并呈现在多媒体ppt上,增加2个过去进行时的提问。What was Robert Allen doing when Dr. King was killed? Which day will Kate Smith never forget ?学生考虑,然后师问生答。2、Fast reading.DO 2b Ask Ss to read the passage quickly, and try to answer the questions in 2b.Check the Ss answers. 3、Present the new words on the PPT.Let the Ss try to read them first. Pairwork. Give them the Chinese meanings and the phonetic symbols . At last, the teacher check their pronunciation, and help them .4、Detail reading Let Ss read the passage again carefully , and finish the tasks in 2a and 2d.活动目的,通过不同问题使用不同的阅读方法,对学生的阅读技能进行训练,增强他们对文章内容的理解,并能更好的开展今后的阅读。Step4 Post-readingDiscuss with your partner, finish task 2e,and practice the oral skills.Present the questions on the PPT after Ss talked about them. B: He was eating with his family.活动目的:达到阅读后用英语交谈,并口语复述事件的目的。Step5 Have a try What other important things do you know? What were you doing when the things happened?
