To be able to talk about some things happening in shopping.教学难点The functional sentences about how to discuss clothes materials and bargain.I like wearing clothes made of cotton because they feel so nice and soft.Could you give me a discount if I buy several?教具准备The scripts & video clips of dialogues.PowerPoint presentation slides of different dress materials.教学方法Task-basic methodology 教学流程教师活动学生活动设计意图GreetingLead-in教师简单陈述背景:假期购物情况,买衣服的材质,价格。Pre-listening词汇学While-listening播放听力材料3遍Post-listening:表达练习1) 听回答问题2) 读选择句型集体回答学生观看图片播放后回答教师的问题集碎-补碎-拼碎-校碎集体朗读。个别回答。集体回答。学生先独立完成表格,同桌互相讨论,修改答案。最后学生代表回答。拉近师生距离回顾有关服装材质的词汇,为本单元的学习做好语言和知识的准备。直接学习本课堂新词汇:synthetic, polyester等互相合作,取长补短,共同进步;逐步还原听力材料。通过朗读纠正语言语调,并加深理解。前半部分较简单,用“听”解决,后半部分相对较难,用“读”解决,并用表格形式对知识进行巩固。教 学 过 程Warming upI. Show students the picture on Page 1 of Unit 1. Ask them to look at the picture and discuss: 1. Where are they? 2. What are they doing?II. Introduce the topic of the unit to students, especially the meaning of “best buy”.III. Ask the students to listen to five sentences and match the key words in the sentences with the pictures in Activity , Warming up. Present the key sentences on the slide and explain their meanings.IV. Ask students to look at the two pictures in Activity, and tick out the choices that influence their shopping, then let them share the result in class.Listening & Speaking practice (1)I. Ask students to try reading the words in the word box on Page 3. Then ask students to read them after the tape. II. Tell students they are going to listen to a short dialogue about discussing dress materials. Give them some advice on listening skills.III. Play the tape twice and ask the students to read it after the tape. IV. Present the basic sentences on the blackboard: I like wearing clothes made of cotton because they feel so nice and soft. Dont you find them not very comfortable? Theyre surely not as comfortable as cotton clothes, but they dont wear out so quickly.V. Ask the students to listen to the dialogue again. And then ask them to form groups and practice it in turns. Then finish Activity .VI. Prepare some other dress materials for students, and ask them to make a new dialogue according to the given materials with the learnt words and sentences in Activity . And then show in class.Listening &Speaking practice (2)I. Ask the students to look at the picture on Page 4, and then listen to the dialogue of Activity . Ask students to look at the following questions before they listen to the dialogue: What does Edward want to buy?How much does Edward pay for all the goods at last?II. Play the tape and ask the students to listen and try to answer the questions.III. Play the tape again and then ask students to listen and fill in the blanks. Show students the dialogue with blanks, ask them to fill in the words like “best sellers, give me a discount, a round number, its a deal”. Then check answers.IV. Explain the meaning of the dialogue and the difficult sentences in it.V. Ask the students to listen to the dialogue in Activity again and try to act the dialogue with their partners. VI. Ask the students to work in pairs and role-play a dialogue based on the information in Activity .ConsolidationI. Show the students different pictures of other dress materials and ask them to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of the materials.II.
