Unit7 THE SEALesson 3 The Sea World 教材分析This is the third lesson in this unit. The main topic is the sea world. The goal of this topic is to help students to express opinions using the associated words. 教学目标【知识与能力目标】1. know vocabulary associated with sea creatures.2. be able t o use skimming to locate the key information to help subsequent comprehension.3. be able to make use of non-text information to help understand the text.4. have a clear idea of the structure of a brochure.5. express opinions using th e associated words and the information obtained.【过程与方法目标】Help students to learn about the sea of the sea an d improve students reading.【情感态度价值观目标】To make the students the real masters in class and develop the students awareness of self-learning. 教学重难点【教学重点】Learn to make use of non-text information to help understand the text. 【教学难点】Tousesomewordsandexpressionstospeak. 课前准备 Tape recorder, Multimedia 教学过程. Warming up T: Which of these animals can you see in the pictures? (show some pictures to students)Ss: T: Do you know?Which fish uses a light to attract food?Which fish can make a loud noise?What kind of fish appear to fly in the water?Which are the smallest fish in the world?Do you know all the sites of Underwater World?Ss:II. Reading1.Scan the text quickly and find out the names of the tourist sites of the underwater world.Places to see sea creatures2. Read the brochure. Find where you can see these things in Underwater World.1). fish which use a light to attract food Virtual Reality Voyage2). dolphins in performance Sea Theatre3). fish that appear to fly in the water Ocean Floor4). sea creatures that children can touch Discovery Pool5). a big iceberg Polar World3. Match these comments from visitors to the different areas of Underwater World.1) It was terrible! There are too many in the pool and I dont think they enjoy the show. I think its cruel to make them do tricks. Sea Theatre2) “How do they stop it from melting? It was great but I felt quite cold after a while. ” Polar World3) “On the one hand, we loved most of the attractions, especially the one for the children. On the other hand, I didnt think that the cafeteria was as good as it should be.” Discovery Pool4) “I learned a lot. I mean, I didnt know that a fish could be noisy!
