Review these words, make students know their meanings and know how to use them.2 Key phrases: 1. have conversations with friends; 2. look up in a dictionary; 3. pay attention to + n./ v.ing 4.make mistakes in; 5. be born with; 6. be patient with; 7. take notes; 8. read aloud; 9. make mistakes in; 10. be afraid to do / be afraid of +n./ v.ing. Review these key phrases, make sure students can use them correctly to complete the sentences and even make their own sentences. 3 Key structures:-How do you study English? -I study English by+v.ingI dont know how to increase my reading speed. Make students use these kinds of sentences correctly in their dialogues.2 Ability goals: (1) To train students ability of communicationTalk about the good ways of learning English with friends(2) To train students ability of writing. Write a letter to your friend; give him some advice about the best ways to learn English.3 Emotion goals: 1 Let the students become more interested in English. 2 Help the students build self-confidence in learning English.Teaching Important Points 1. Enjoy a song “Try everything”2. Introduce Cindy, a doctor in the University of Cambridge, to the students. Encourage students to study English hard with Cindys story. Cindy will share five kinds of methods with the students to help them learn English well during the class.Step2 Presentation 1. Show the first piece of advice: You should try to remember all the key words1 Review the key words. Match the words with their meanings, then heck the answers2 Learning methods about how to learn words. Try to remember different types of the words Compare the words with similar ones3 Do activity1, fill in the blanks with the words in the box, and check the answers.
