Teenagers should be allowed to choose their own clothes 说课稿Good afternoon everyone! I am NO.XX. Today,it is a pleasure for me to stand here and have such an opportunity to share some of my teaching ideas. My topic is Teenagers should be allowed to choose their own clothes taken from Unit3 Book 5 in Go For It. Now,I will present the first period of Section A(from1a to 2c). My presentation consists of six parts :Analysis of the teaching material ,Analysis of the Ss ,Teaching methods, Learning methods ,Teaching procedures, Blackboard design and time division. Part One Analysis of the Teaching Material1.status and function In this unit Ss learn to talk about what they are allowed to do and agree and disagree. Such a topic is related to their daily life , so it can raise their learning interest and improve their spoken English. The first period plays a very important role in this unit ,so if the students can learn it well , it will be helpful to make the Ss learn the rest of this unit . 2.Teaching aims According to New National English Curriculum, our general task is to develop students Comprehensive language application ability. So I make the new words and phrases pierce, silly, instead of and so on and some useful sentences, Such as I think students should be allowed to do homework with friends.I agree with you./I dont think so as knowledge aims. As for ability aims, to develop Ss 4 basic skills and the abilities of communication are the central tasks for this class. Besides them, the emotional aim is to help Ss cultivate a good habit of obeying the rules.3.Teaching key and difficult pointsIn my opinion, the teaching key and difficult points are based on the teaching materials status and function. The key point is to make sure that Ss can master new words, phrases and sentences. And the difficult points are to help Ss use should(not) be allowed to do to talk about what they are allowed to do and not allowed to do and agree/disagree to present their own opinions and reasons correctly and skillfully. In addition, I will use A tape recorder and PPT courseware as teaching aids.Part Two Analysis of the SsStudents of Grade 9 have learned English for more than 6 years . So they have a good foundation in words、sentences and grammar. They have mastered some skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing .And most students have taken a great interest in English. Part ThreeTeaching MethodsIn this class Ill mainly use Situational teaching method, Audio-visual teaching method and Task-based teaching method.Part Four Learning MethodsAs we know the students are real masters of the class, so Ill use some assessments: such as PK games.I will guide them how to learn by observation-imitation-practice.Then students will take an interest as well as have confidence in learning English, its also helpful to form their learning habit and strategy.OK,now I will talk about the most important part:Part Five Teaching ProceduresStep 1:Warming up After greeting with the Ss,I will begin my class by teaching Everyday English “You got a dream. You gotta protect it.” Then by playing the PPT,Ill present the picture on page18. Ask Ss to describe the activities with their own words. For example: Choose their own clothes.Purpose is to form a better English environment and to provide situation to raise the Ss interest and curiosity.Step 2: Lead inTask1: By playing the PPT,I will present some activities on the screen, such as “go out at night, take mobile phones to school, do homework with friends, have part-time jobs and so on.”Then ask Ss to use agree/disagree to present their own opinions and reasons.Task2: Teach Ss the structure of Sb should(not) be allowed to do sth. Then guide Ss to make new sentences to expand these activities. For example: Students should not be allowed to go out at night.Purpose is to broaden Ss minds and help Ss participate in the class actively.Step 3:PresentationFirst let the Ss look at the pictures on the PPT.I will present the words and phrases in this lesson. Read the words and phrases and ask Ss to repeat them.Make sure all Ss can master the meaning and pronunciation. Then let the Ss look at the rules in 1a. I will read the sentences to the class and make sure all Ss understand them, then all Ss read them.Next ask Ss to circle A(for agree) or D(for disagree). As they work I will move around the room and answer any questions they may have. Finally check the answers with the class.Purpose is to present the pictures by PPT to help Ss learn and grasp the meanings.Step 4:ListeningThis step covers 3 tasks which are 1b, 2a and 2b. Ask a student to read the instructions to the class in 1b and give Ss 10 seconds to get ready. Listen to the tape three times. The first time,Ss just listen. The second time, Ss need to circle T(for true) or F(for false). The third time,Ss check the answers with the whole class. As for 2a and 2b, I will follow the steps as said above.Ask Ss to circle what Kathy and Molly thinks in 2a and number the reasons in the correct order in 2b. Considering this part is more difficult than 1b,Ill play the tape one more time if needed.Purpose is to practice understanding target language in spoken conversation.Step 5:PracticeThis step covers 2 tasks which are 1c and 2c.Ask two Ss to read the dialogue in 1c to the class “I dont think sixteen-year-olds should be allowed to drive.I agree. They arent serious enough.”and make sure all the Ss understand the dialogue. Then let the Ss make new dialogues and practice in pairs. As they work, Ill move around the room and answer any questions they may have. After that, I will ask some pairs to act it out in front of the class. The pair who does best can win 2 points. As for 2c, I will ask Ss to make a list of things teenagers should and should not be allowed to do, then follow the steps as said above. Purpose is to practice by using the target language and develop Ss ability of communication and cooperation.Step 6: Consolidation and extensionI will help Ss summarize what they have learnt in this lesson. Then with the help of PPT, Ill present a given situation: Suppose we have a new classmate this term.At the beginning of the term,he wants to know some rules about our school. Make 4 Ss a group and discuss what ruleswe have at our school and what you think of them. Then each group appoints a group member to give a report to the class. The group who does best can win 2 points. Purpose is to consolidate todays knowledge and develop Ss English comprehensive ability. For homework,I ask students to review the learnt knowledge today and write an article about your family rules. For assessment, each group wins one point for one-star task and two for two-star task.At the end of this class, I will check which group wins the most points today.Part SixBlackboard design and Time divisionFirst, this is topic. Then I
