Analysis of the teaching material1.Brief introduction of the teaching materialThe teaching material which Im going to teach is in unit 5,the second book of GO FOR IT for Grade 7.The unit is about animals. Its the first period in the unit. The purpose of this period is to develop the students basic skills of listening, speaking,reading,and writing by teaching them how to describe an animal. Meanwhile, I think moral education should be carried out properly.2. Teaching aims and demandsAccording to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus, I think the teaching aims are the following:1) Aims of knowledge :Students will be able to,understand phrases such as panda, zoo , tiger, elephant, koala, lion , giraffe animal ,cute , lazy ,smart , beautiful , scary, South Africa , China, Australia ,kind of Master the following imperatives patterns: - Why do/dont you like? -Because they are . -Where are from? -They are from2) Aims of abilities:After this period, students will,Improve their abilities of speaking and listening.Develop their abilities of communicating with each other using the useful words and expressions learned in this unit.3) Aims of emotion:After this period, students will,Have more interests and better attitude in learning EnglishLearn to have good cooperation Have moral education They should learn to do some housework.3.Teaching key points and difficulties 1) Key points:Key words and target sentence patterns.2) Teaching difficulties :Help students to use their own language to describe animalsMake conversations and act them out by using the language points learned in this period. II Analysis of the students My students are about 12 or 13 years of age. They are curious, active and enjoy learning in the exciting, interesting and relaxing atmosphere. On the other hand, theyre too young to notice the contents long enough. They easily lose confidence in face of difficulties. So suitable tasks are very important. The teaching activities should be interesting and within their abilities and the instructions should be given step by step.III. Teaching & learning methods1. Student-centered2. Task-based teaching3.
