(2)Review the structures and phrases to describe peoples appearances.教学难点: (1)Understand the new job (2)What does the pronoun refer to in the article.教学方法: Discussing method. Listening method. Oral practice method. Actions method. Context method.教具学具: A computer(ppt+Ipboard software) A blackboard A book . 语言知识目标: (1) 词汇:police artist criminal put tall of medium height describe(2)短语:put in(3)句子:What does the criminal look like? He has curly blond hair. The criminal is of medium height.VIII.教学过程:教学内容及教师活动学生活动教学意图和说明一、 Warming up(2minutes)T:We should read carefully, speak loudly and think actively in class.Listen careful进行简单问候,提出课堂要求。二、Pre-reading (8minutes)Step1 Lead-in:T:Lets review some important sentences. Please read as fast as possible. He is young. He is tall and thin. He has a small nose. He has two big eyes. He has two long legs. He has long straight black hair. T:Please change the adjectives into their autonyms. He is old. He is short and heavy. He has a big nose. He has two small eyes. He has two short legs. He has short curly white hair.Read the sentences as fast as possible.Think it over to change the adjectives into their autonyms.Read the sentences again.复习之前学过的描述人的句子(3分钟)Step2 Draw as the teacher describe Teacher describes a man.DescriptionHe is a crosstalk comedian. He has a big head and a round face. He has short straight black hair. He has two small eyes and a small nose. He has a small mouth too. He has two big ears. He is kind of heavy and of medium height.Students draw a picture the teacher describes.通过画出老师所描述的人物,进一步复习本单元重点句型,同时为学习短文做铺垫。(3分钟)While reading (20minutes)T: Do you think if it is interesting?Is it easy?T:I have a friend, he is a special artist, do you want to know him?Step1 Read Paragraph 1 and answer the questions . 1. Whats Joe Browns job?2. What does a police artist do? 3. Where do the police put the picture of the criminal to find him? T:Have you finished?.T:Did you find the answer? T: Another question: How can Joe help to find out the criminal?Read Paragraph 1 and write down the answers all by themselves.Answer the questions利用老师描述学生画的环节,引出本节课要学习的短文。通过提问答案在文章中的所在处及重复以确保所有学生找到答案。提问较简单的问题时,在问题未给出之前鼓励学生争取回答的机会,培养学生的积极性。 (8分钟)Step2 Read Paragraph 2T: Now, lets come to Joes job. He draws a picture of the criminal, right? Do you think his job is easy or difficult?T: Read Paragraph 2 and answer the questions Is it easy for Joe to draw a good picture of the criminal? Why?T: OK, now, I need some of you tell me what the criminal looks like.T:Read again and fill the blanks.
