Background information:Title: How was your school trip?Lesson: Unit 11 Book 2, the first periodStudents: Middle school students, Grade 1Lesson duration: 45 minutes. Analysis of the students material This is the first time students get to know the past tense, they may have many problems learning the tense of the words. But they still have the basic skills to learn the new words and new sentences. In that case, they need more proper situations and practices to consolidate. Teaching objectives:1. Konwledge objectives: By the end of the lesson, students should be able to:(1)learn the first part of new words and new simple sentences;(2). get to know the simple knowledge of the past tense;2. Ability objectives:By the end of the lesson, students should be able to: (1). improve their listening and speaking ability. (2) express the simple meaning by using the past tense.3. Moral objectives:By the end of the lesson, students should be able to care about others, and develop the spirit of corporation by pair work and competition. Focal and difficult points (1). new words, phrases and sentences; (2). usage of the sentence structure of past tense. Teaching methods and aids task-based teaching methods, situational approach,process learning method (pre-,while-, post-)PPT, tape record, electric black board, some fruits. Type of the lesson: listening, speaking. Teaching procedures:Step1. Warming up.(3 mins) 1.1 greeting and introduction 1.2 enjoying a song to lead in Step 2. New words teaching(5 mins) 1.1 teaching pronunciations and meaning T: teach new words one by one and translate Ss: read after teacher, and try to get familiar to the new words 1.2 practice T: read the new words one by one Ss: read after the teacher and memorize the meaning. Step 3. Language preparation (5 mins)1.1 review the background sentence using three dialoguesT: What do you usually do?Ss: I usually 1.2 little summaryT: point out the form of the verbsSs: make some notes and pay attention to the change.Exercise 1a(5 mins) 1.1 prepare for 1a T: teach the pronunciation of some past tense with the phonetic Ss: practice the pronunciation of the words1.3 check the reading and finish the 1a on the bookcheck the answers together Step 4. Listening(15 mins) Pre-listening: 1.1 students read the test first 1.2 explain the meaning, demands and the skills of dealing with the exercise. While-listening: 1.1 students finish the task 1 alone first 1.2 check the answer and count the how many students did it right 1.3 listen again to finish the task 2 1.4 check the answers in groups and give others the answers on the blackborad Post-listening: 1.1 check the answers by listening the material sentence by sentence 1.2 students review the key structure of this partStep6: Presentation(5 mins) 1.1 role play the conversation of 1b and read together 1.2 students make their own conversations by using the sentence structure 1.3 two pairs students show out their conversations to the classStep7: Summarize and consolidation(5 mins) 1.1 Teacher summarizes the knowledge including the new words and key structure of this class, and let students think about the knowledge. 1.2 read the conversation together to consolidate the knowledge of this unitStep8: Homework(
