But a lot of health problems come along. Some symptoms like obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidmeia, hyperglycemia, cervical spondylosis and so on have merged. These series of diseases are bothering many peoples life. More and more people begin to realize the importance of their health. So many people begin to take fitness exercise to improve their situation. Our country has a long history in physical training. Our muscle arts like Tai Chi, Jeet Kune Do and SHAOLIN KUNG-FU are famous in the world. But in 1980s, after opening and reform, the western Aerobics culture has spread in China. Training gym and aerobics as the main contents began to emerge. Most young people choose to train in the gym. This paper is to give a brief talk of the differences between Chinese and western fitness culture to let people know how to choose the suitable ways of doing exercise.二、课题综述(课题研究,主要研究的内容,要解决的问题,预期目标,研究步骤、方法及措施等)。This papers aim is to study the differences between Chinese and western fitness culture to help the people who want to begin to workout the best way. The following four factors are introduced: Differences between Chinese and western concept of fitness regimen, differences between Chinese and western exercise skills, the comparison of Chinese and western mode of motion and the introduction of current situation of Chinese and western peoples physical exercise. Understanding these factors will help people know how to achieve the ideal goal of our own bodies in scientific ways.Research approach: 1. Choose an appropriate topic.2. They are all made to help people to achieve an idealstatue to deal with our life. Although these two kinds of culture are the ways of doing physical to keep healthy, but the general content and concept of them are mainly different.This paper aims to study the differences between Chinese and western physical culture. Let people know the concept and contentof these two can help people choose the most suitable way to do physical exercise in line with our own ideas.The following four factors will be analyzed and introduced: differences between Chinese and western concept of fitness regimen,differences between Chinese and western exercise skills, the union of Chinese and western mode of motion and the introduction of current situation of Chinese and western physical fitness exercises.1.1 Research BackgroundWith the quality of modern life improved a lot, many health problems like obesity, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, hyperglycemia, cervical spondylosis begin to bother everyone. Most of these problems except some incurable diseases like HIV; Parkinson, etc. can be cured and improved by doing exercise. Insist in following the traditional Chinese style or choosethe western body-building style. I hope every one can have a clear idea about these two kinds of culture and choose your ownway to start training after reading this paper.2. These two views of matter produced in the same world and they were both tested by the simple materialism but they finally became two different things.2.1.1Chinese philosophical view of matter of physical exerciseUnity of man and nature is the content of Chinese philosophy, and the pneuma is the core of Chinese philosophy. The pneuma is something flowing and continuous inside peoples body. Tomake the pneuma stronger is to make people stronger. And other things like ethic, mode of living, cognitive form, mode of thinkingand view of life decide how Chinese people do physical exercise. Chinese traditional view of value focus on integrality andharmony, reject innovation and the courage of pursuing new things. These things make people take things as they are, lack of spirit of adventure, be contented in poverty and devoted to things spiritual. These things reflect the Chinese mode of doing physical exercise: do exercise for entertainment, not for victory or defeat;do exercise for good health not for creation; do exercise for learning skills not for adventure; do exercise for elegant moves not for a strong body.2.1.2Western philosophical view of matter of physical exerciseThe western philosophy started in Greece. Its a place full ofhills and surrounded by seas. The environment decided they cant count on the nature to survive. They have to work on handicraft, business and seafaring. So the core of western philosophy is man against nature. Western people must have a strong body to conquer the difficulties caused by nature.So the mode of western physical exercise is realizing self-fulfillment in the crash against nature and other people.They do exercise for victory, strong bodies and showing their individual character.2.2Differences between Chinese and western value orientation of fitnessUnder the influence of Chinese traditional culture, the traditional Chinese fitness thinking just emphasizes peoples health and longevity one-sidedly. Although someone mentioned you must get yourself strong internally and externally during the process of working out. But its essence is still to live longer by improving your lifestyle and the plans of your daily life. So the Chinese traditional ideas of preserving our health are just some blinkered minds.The western valuable idea of physical fitness is built on a famous saying said by Voltaire:”Life lies in movement.” The theory of exercise is to practice let western people to do exercise to improve their physiological function under the modern scientific fitness tests.Its main idea is to ask people to have a strong body. In the same time the trainers must learn a lot of advanced knowledge to take exercise. Its a kind of comprehensive concept of fit-keeping.2.3 Differences between Chinese and western aesthetics of bodyThe traditional aesthetics of art influence peoples aestheticsof art influence peoples aesthetics of body. The artworks from ancient times reflect the differences between Chinese and western aesthetics of body.The statues like David and MOISE are both wear less and show off the muscles of the characters. And there are a lot of similar artworks are exiting in western countries. But we never see some Chinese artworks like those. “Women dont leak skin, men dont leak novel” is the principle of Chinese feudal ethical code. The Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses directly show the body shapeto us but the statues are still covered with heavy clothes and armor. The western artists are used to describe the prototype of human body. But in Chinese feudal society, the artists could not directly witness the human body and do not allowed to create the body artworks.So the western people adore the strong body shapes. But the Chinese peoples aesthetics of body are limited. Most of us do notknow our own bodies enough. And a lot of people still think the mens sage-like type body and womens fleshy build are the mainstream Chinese thought.Finally the Chinese people want to reach a state of the beauty of harmony with nature by health preservation movement. And the western people mainly show off the beauty of their body shape by the train of muscles. Meanwhile the muscles can intensify the organs of human body.3. Differences between Chinese and western exercise skills3.1Where and when to do exercisesThe Chinese traditional body-building exercises have a lot of rules to strengthen the result after doing exercise. The rules areaccording to the theories like midnight-midday ebb-flow and the facing backing of yin and yang. Simply said the ancient peoplethink there are four most suitable periods in a day to do exercise. They are the period of the day from 11p.m.to 1a.m., the period of the day from 5p.m. to 7p.m. And if the weather is crisscross of Yin and Yang in the period of the day from 11p.m. to 1a.m., people think its the best time to train your body. As an experienced gym trainer, I think the Chinese ancient people are really good to summarize these time, because you can feel the difference when you do exercise in different time. But now I dont think the modern people would get out of their bed in the mid-night to chase the best training time.To the western people, their characteristics decide they can do exercise whenever they want. But most of them will choose to dosome exercise in the morning. Many Chinese people have the impression that all the western people do exercise in the gym. But the truth is the western will take exercises like running, climbing, swimming and so on as their first choice. Then the ball gamesare their favorite sports with friends. And their violent shows are famous all over the world; many trainers can join those shows to make money. If you want to do all the activities you need a strong body and the gyms are the place with all kinds of tools to help people reach their goals directly. And in western countries you can find a gym easily, do not need to worry about where to do exercise. Though ancient Chinese people have a lot of rules about the training time, there is no limit about where to do exercise. The Chinese trainers are advocated to do exercise wherever you are in the right time.3.2 Chinese and western people pursue different results after doing exerciseThe Chinese and western value orientation of fitness, aesthetics of body, the ancient stories decide different people pursue different states of their bodies.For example一 In Chinese ancient romantic stories the most charming characters and also have internal culture are always those brilliant scholars. Even in mythic fictions, the beautiful ghosts and demons are always stuck on them. But the characters with strong bodies are usually described as the people
