They are divided into 3 groups.2. Theyve got some of the rules3. Theyd like to have something challenging and fun in class.4. They are active and willing to participate in class activities. Teaching AimsCriteriaNotes1.The main task (Outcome)The students will be able to read and talk about the rules with Imperative Do/Dont ., Can of permission, or Modal verbs have to ,must这是本节课主要任务,其它活动都是为此做准备的。2.Target Languagea. The students will be able to express their ideas on talking about the rules with the following patterns. Get up early and make your bed. Dont leave the dirty dishes in the kitchen. I cant play basketball after school because I must do my homework. I have to go to bed before 10:00 . There are lots of things you can do. Parents and schools are sometimes strict, but remember, they make rules to help us. We have to follow them.b. The students will be able to understand the following words and phrases.leave, dirty, dishes, kitchen, terrible, strict , follow the rules, remember, make the bed, feel核心语言的操练、理解与运用应当融入话题。搭建支架, 帮助学生灵活使用语言完成话题任务。部分词汇已学习,了解其在文中的词义并能根据音标正确朗读。再现为了进一步巩固3. Grammar FocusStudents will be able to use “Do/ Dont. ;can/cant.;must/have to .” properly.使用“Do/ Dont . ; can/cant .; must/have to .” 谈论规则,正确使用can/cant及have to的用法。4. Reading Strategya. The students will be able to “scan” the reading material quickly to find details that they are looking for without reading the whole text. (What rules does Molly have to follow?)b. The students will be able to “summarize” the important ideas from the text by making a list of the rules at home and school培养学生scan语篇,迅速获取特定信息的能力,以适应“信息爆炸时代”的信息获取新形式。培养学生抓住核心信息,用自己的语言复述的能力。5. AffectionThe students will be able to focus their attention on the classroom instruction and performance.初一阶段应该培养学生的学习意志,从单纯的兴趣过渡到有意识学习。6. CultureThe students will be able to know about the rules in different places and who they will ask for help when they are unhappy学英语、更要学文化。了解中外相同或不同的校规、家规。同时了解西方孩子有烦恼时,更愿意向专业人士或机构求助。 DifficultiesThe students might find it difficult to use “can/cant , have to/must” properly 使用时,学生容易将can/cant与“ have to /must,”用法混淆 。Teaching Aidsblackboard, chalk, computer传统的“黑板-粉笔”教学与现代的“多媒体”教学结合,优势互补,给予学生多种形式的刺激,提高课堂有效性。Rewarda star for each wonderful answer and the group with the most stars is regarded as the winner and will get a surprise from at the end of the semester初一学生有一定外界鼓励刺激更能激发其参与热情与竞争意识。小组竞赛贯穿整个课堂,每位学生都能获得一定满足感并能组内互助共同提高。Procedures & ActivitiesActivity1:Warmingup & Lead-in(3 minutes) 1. Play the chant and follow:Rules, rules, rulesEvery day I can hear my parents say,“Do your homework and no TV.Clean your room and dont make it messy.”Rule, rules, thereve got to be rules.Let me tell you, young child, you just cannot run wild.Every day I can hear my teacher say,“Please arrive on time and dont run behind. If you want to speak, raise your hand.”Rule, rules, thereve got to be rules.Let me tell you, young child, you just cannot run wild.Try to answer:Whats the chant about ?2. Scan the passage and answer:What does Molly thing of the rules?Theyre terrible. Read the letters and underline the rules for Molly. Read again and answer more questions:1. What time does Molly get up?2. What does Molly have to do before going to school?3. How does Molly go to school?4. What may Molly like?5. What time does Molly go to bed?6. What does Dr. Know think of the rules ?通过阅读,培养学生scan语篇,迅速获取特定信息的能力,比如数字、活动及方式,以适应“信息爆炸时代”的信息获取新形式。Activity3: After-reading1. Listen and imitate the letter, then have a memory challenge:At school1. Dont be late.2. 3. 4. .At home1. Get up early2. Make the bed3. 4. .Make a list of rules for Molly :2. Read the letters again by themselves and finish off Section B 2c with “have to /must, can or cant”进一步让学生通过阅读获取信息,然后进行语言输出的过程。通过阅读,并正确使用 “have to /must, can or cant” ,寻找规律,巩固目标语言,落实重点,突破难点。Activity4: Group competitionShow them numbers 0-9, choose one of them and finish off the task and get the suitable stars for their group通过多种形式让学生巩固已学规则,同时帮助学生认识到遵守规则是一个学生应尽的义务。将小组竞赛的结果记录下来,一学期结束时对优胜组进行奖励,激励性评价可以激发和持续学生的学习热情。Activity5: ConsolidationRetell the story about Molly Fill in the blanks to complete the story:Molly is unhappy because she has _ _ rules.
