湖北经济学院法商学院通识选修课 -用英语说中国课程结业论文学生姓名：纪极强 学号：1240610108学生所在院系及专业：法商学院外语系经贸英语专业分数： Traditional Chinese FestivalAs is known to us all,China is a country with many ethnic groups and a rich cultural heritage,which results in a lot of festivals in China.However,many Chinese individuals dont know exactly what the festivals are and how to celebrate them.As a Chinese , I believe that we should have the sense of responsibility to inherit our traditional culture and spread it throughout the world.Here, I would like to make you clear some details about the traditional Chinese festivals.Firstly,I would like to tell you that there are seven traditional Chinese festivals in total.They are respectively,the Spring Festival,the Lantern Festival,Tomb-sweeping Festival,Dragon Boat Festival,Double Sevens Day,the Mid-autumn Festival and Double Nines Day.Next,I would like to give you some details about these festivals.First,it is the Spring Festival,the ,most important festival in China.When it comes to the meaning of this festival,it stands for the end of the last year and the beginning of the new year.Before the festival , we should do some preparations for it.The first thing is Spring Cleaning.From December 23rd in the Chinese calendar, people begin to clean their house to bid farewell to the old year and usher in a happy and fresh new year.And then ,they should do some special purchases for the Spring Festival.Next,they will write and paste couplets on their doors.After all these preparations,people in China will enjoy the most substantial dinner of the year,that is ,the Family Reunion Dinner.Then it goes with the Spring Festival,which is the first day of the first month in lunar calender.People will pay New Year s Visit to their relatives and friends.The most fortunate group in this day is the children,I believe,for the reason that they can get lucky money packed in red envelops.According to Chinese culture,the Spring Festival will last until the fifth day of the first lunar month,which is another traditional festival in China,that is ,the Lantern Festival.In this festival,people will eat round sweet dumplings.The lantern exhibition is also a custom that has persisted throughout history.After the Lantern Festival,it is another important festival in China.That is Tomb-sweeping Day,which is also called Qing Ming Festival.In this day, people will sweep the tombs of their ancestors and fire paper money for them, in memory of their forefathers.The next festival celebrated by all Chinese individuals is Dragon Boat Festival,in memory of the famous poet in Chu Dynasty,Qu Yuan.In this day,people will eat Zongzi which is a kind of traditional Chinese rice-pudding.Otherwise,people will hold dragon boat races.The following festival is Double Sevens Festival.Actually,the name is given from its date.This festival is in the seventh day of the seventh lunar month.In fact , this festival is to cherish the memory of the ancient Romantic story of Niu Nang&Zhinu,which is known to every Chinese individual.After the romantic festival, it goes with another festival for family reunion.In this day,all the families will get together to enjoy this special day.They will enjoy their mooncakes under the moon at night.It is said that the moon in that night is the roundest one in the year,which represent family reunion and their miss to their loved ones.The last traditional festival in Chinese culture is Double Nines Day,also named after its date.Actually,this festival is celebrated for the old.In this festival ,people will ascend a height to enjoy a di
