Knowledge aim: To understand and master the key words words: guitar, sing, swim, dance, chess, play chess, draw, speak, speak English, join, club.& key sentences: Can you play the guitar? Yes, I can./ No, I cant. What can you do? I can dance. 2. Ability aim: To train ss speaking ability.3. Emotion aim: To make ss know more about others ability and improve ss group consciousness. Teaching Methods:1. Task-based teaching method;2. Communicative teaching method.Key Point:To enable ss to master how to talk about abilities and the usage of “play”.Difficult Point:To improve ss speaking ability.Teaching Procedure:Teaching Procedure:Step 1: Lead in 1. Ss look at the picture in 1a. Then read the words and phrases. Let Ss match the activities with the people. Then Check the answers with the class together.2. Ask Ss “Can you sing?”. If they say “Yes”, then I will ask one ss volunteer to shou us. Step 2: PresentationShow them some pictures and lead them to talk about them: HeShe can danceswimsingBut I cant danceswimsing.Step 3: Game (What can I do?) Ask ss to tell their partners “what you can do”. For example: I can play the guitar. I can sing and dance. Ss work in groups. The let some Ss talk to their classmates in front of the class. Step 4: Listening 1. Practice 1b.2. Check the answers: (2,3, 1 ) 3. Listen again and answer the questions. 1) In conversation 1, what club does the girl want to join? Can she sing?2) In conversation 2, can the boy swim?3) In conversation 3, what club does the girl want to join? Can she draw?Step 5: Pair work Ask the ss to practice the conversations :- Can you singdancedrawplay chessplay the guitar.?-Yes, I can.
