You look so great,so you must be happy. (warm up)Now Ill show you a new song. Yesterday once more . When you listen to the song, please try to recall your childhood,your beautiful childhood. Or your yesterday, what did you do yesterday, what did you do last weekend?(5m)(in order to arouse the Sss passion by the song, and present the past tense of the verbs.)Step2After the song ,learning the new sentence and the new words by PPTthentheteachercommunicateswiththestudents: (askthestudents)what did you do last weekend? Just like that above. There are two kinds of verbs, regular verbs and irregular verbs. For a regular verb we should add ed at the end of it, and for an irregular verb it has a different form, its past form. On Saturday morning, she played tennis.(2) Playthetapeofpart2a and underline the words ,then check.(3) Playthetapeofpart2bagain,andgetthestudentstofillintheblankswiththenamestheyhear. After the listening work, the teacher should give a summary about the phrases and key sentences. The teacher should write the sentence structure on the blackboard and tellSs they are grammar focus. 1b Listening and writingHere is a conversation. Lets listen to the tape and write the day and “morning”, “afternoon” or “night” below each picture.Have you got the answers? The right answers are like these: Picture b:Sunday afternoonPicture c:Saturday afternoonPicture d:Sunday nightPicture e:Saturday morningPicture f:Sunday morningListen again and repeat what you hear. Try to be familiar with these phrases and sentences.Now go to page 87 to read the tape scripts. While reading underline all the expressions and copy them in your notebook. . Listen to the tape and underline the words you hear.Now lets check the answers. 1. I visited my (aunt/ grandmother).2. I did some (homework/ sports).3. I studied for the (science/math) tests.4. I went to the (pool/beach).5. I played (volleyball/tennis).2b Listening and writingI will play the recording the second time. Listen to the tape once more and write “C” for Carol, “B” for Ben, “E” for Emma next to the statements in 2a. 1. E I visited my (aunt/ grandmother).2. E I did some (homework/ sports).3. B I studied for the (science/math).4. C I went to the (pool/beach).5. C I played (volleyball/tennis).Now go to page 87 to read the tape scripts. While reading underline all the expressions and copy them in your notebook. . We are going to talk in imitation of the conversations we have just heard and read. Step5 pair work 1c and 2c A: What did you do last weekend?B: I stayed at home.A: What about your friend, Carol?B: She practiced English. What did you do?A: I studied for the math test.Using the expressions what Ss have learned, act the conversation.( the teacher combines 1a with 2c in order to save time . So that it can do more interesting activities.)(It is necessary to practice as much as possible, and the more you apply it in real situation, the more it will become natural. Then you can blurt it out. its quite useful to acquire the target language for them.)Step6guessing game Rules : every student can get the chance to guess. There are 9 numbers on the PPT. You can choose one. When a student choose ,he should guess and answer the teachers question.(Letthestudentsguess what did the person do in the picture. The game can make Ss take an active part in the class and it can also make them grasp the key language and the past tense of the verbs.)(To make Ss acquire the knowledge completely.)Step7 memory challenge : who will be the memory king?Rules : the teacher will show a picture with lots of activities. Ss should remember them in 20 seconds. When time is up, the
