Teaching aids : Multi-media , pictures and cards .Teaching procedures:Step Warming-up:1. Show picture to introduce a friend or family member.T: Look at this photo. This is my father. He is about sixty years old. His hair is short and his eyes are big.Then divided the students into four groups. Please each student from the perspectives of relationship, age, appearance, introduce yourself ready to photos.2. Write Numbers on the blackboard, let the students quickly say it out loud in English.Step Presentation:1. Ask the last student age, leads to phrase:grow up.T: How old are you?S: Im eleven years old.T: Youll be twelve years old next year. Youre growing up.Explain the meaning of grow up,and ask students to read. Then display pictures, leads to the word: month.T: (Show the first photo in “Listen and say”)Look at this baby. How old is she? She is about two months old.Please students to read the word.2. Show a picture baby, leads to the words: was , cute.T: Do you know who the baby in this photo is?S: Is that you?T: No.This is my mother. In this photo, she was about five years old. She was cute.Show the pictures of my family is very small, use the sentence pattern: “This is. He was.” to describe, lead to the new words: pretty handsome , help students understand the meaning of new words.3. Play the flash, students listen and look carefully. The teacher writes on the blackboard new words in the dialogue: was and were,compared with the is and are to help students understand the meaning.4. Play the tape, please students to read sentence by sentence, students are encouraged to imitate the recording of pronunciation and intonation .5.
