Students can have a better understanding of their teachers teaching styles. 2. Students can build a better relationship between teachers and students.II. Teaching key points and difficult pointsTeaching key points: Enable students master two reading skills: skimming and scanning.Teaching difficult points: Enable students get to know different teachers teaching styles and make a description.III. Teaching procedureStep 1 Introduction (10min)T: Good morning, class. Since you have been in Lvshun Senior High for more than two weeks, you must have met a lot of new teachers and new classmates. Now lets think about some words to describe them in group.Activity 1: BrainstormingT: You should come up with some adjectives to describe people and write your answers on the handout first and then write them on the white board. Dont forget to divide the words into two kinds.T: You have all done a great job. So lets conclude some useful words which can be used to describe people.【设计意图】让学生以小组合作方式,进行头脑风暴,将学生已知的描述人的词汇归纳整理,为下一步描述新老师打好词汇的基础。Activity 2:Description of new teachers and classmatesT: Since we have learnt all these words, now we should use them to describe our new teachers. Please look at the screen and try to use one sentence to describe them. T: This time describe one of your classmates and do not say his/her name. Let other students guess!【设计意图】以学生熟知的老师导入本模块话题,让学生根据提示和活动一中获取的词汇描述自己的老师和同学,能激发学生的热情并与学生生活实际相联系。fade vi. & vt.(使)褪色;减弱;逐渐消失Step 2: Skimming (5min)pattern n. 模式;式样;图案T: Since we have already discussed what our teachers are like, we are going to see what teachers in other places will be like. Read the text quickly and find the main idea of the passage. T: The main idea of the passage is that it introduces three teachers and students impressions of them. But how can we find the main idea of a passage when it comes to reading comprehension? We can get main idea in many ways.【设计意图】训练学生阅读中略读技巧,在短时间内找到文章大意,并对接高考阅读理解中常出现的主旨大意类题目,帮助学生总结此类题的做题技巧。Step 3 Scanning (10min)lecture n. & vi. 演讲;讲课T: Read the passage again and answer some questions. Each group will choose one question and choose a spokesman to share your answers.1. What first impression did Mrs Li give to the writer? Why? terrified adj. 恐惧的;受惊吓的A: She was nervous and shy. Because it was her first lesson with us.2.
