课题名称Unit 5 What were you doing when the rainstorm came ?Period 4 ( Section B 2a-2e )学情分析通过了SectionA的学习后，学生已经对过去进行时的用法有了较深的了解。而本节课的阅读也较多的体现了这一时态的运用。而对于这篇阅读词汇是一大难点，所以，在教学设计方面，选择了提前学习新单词。知识目标1.重点单词：completely, silence, recently, Terrorist ,realize2.重点短语：in history, in silence, take down, has meaning to 3重点句子:People often remember what they were doing when they heard the news of important events in history.My parents were completely shocked!I was so scared that I could hardly think clearly after that .能力目标1. 训练常见的阅读方法，学会跳读的技巧，提高学生的阅读能力，培养学生的语感。2.通过阅读训练，学会运用过去进行时态，谈论过去的事情或讲述过去的故事。3. 训练阅读技巧，从标题和段落第一句话获取信息情感目标鼓励学生关注当前发生的重大事件，并从中受到教育。教学内容1、New words and expressions. 2、Reading skills。重难点掌握title predicting、在首句子中找出主题句等阅读策略，以及学会如何谈论past events,懂得使用过去进行时。提高学生的阅读能力，培养学生的语感。教学思路理论上讲，本课的教学内容是人教版八年级下册第五单元的第四课时。但我为了跟Section A的reading 部分衔接起来，把这一部分安排在了第三课时（原本的第三课时则跟本单元的写作部分联系起来）。本课主要采取自主学习的方式，培养学生的阅读理解能力，使学生学会阅读技巧，并将听说读写渗透到阅读教学中去，去实现阅读课文的整体教学。通过看图画和文章标题，猜测文章是关于什么的，并适当地给与背景解说，激起学生阅读的兴趣，再让学生了解本单元的阅读策略，并在阅读中运用，最后通过问题检验学生对文章的理解，并让学生了解重大历史事件，并从中受到教育。教学过程来源:Zxxk.ComStep 1 Greeting and lead-in.1、 Greet the students.2、 Lead-in(Review):总结上节课SectionA刚结束的reading “The storm brought people closer together”并引伸出上节课的作业（通过多种途径解决下面两个问题）。1、 When the bad weather comes, what should we do to avoid getting hurt?2、 Tell us something about the important events that happened recently.（该环节有利于学生关注生活，了解社会上正在发生的大事，并从生活中获得更加丰富的实践知识）导入语：OK, now ,lets go on to look at 2 important events in American history. So, please turn to Page 38.Step 2 Before reading. 1. Look at the pictures on this page, and ask students to guess what they will read about.2. Introduce some information about Dr. Martin Luther King and the World Trade Center. （该环节旨在通过观察图片以及老师给出必要的背景解析，激发学生阅读的兴趣）Step 3 While reading.1. 1、 Skimming(扫读).
