Think about it.1. Do you think science is interesting? Why or why not?2. Name one or two famous Chinese scientists. What do you know about them?设计意图:与学生进行一个简短的对话,进入本课主题。Step 3. Show students the pictures to let them know the process of this experiment.设计意图:通过展示图片让学生理解整个实验过程。Step 4. Read and fill in the blanksRead the text and fill in the blanks:Lets do the experiment together! Put the candle in the candle holder. Put the candle holder on the dish. Fill the dish half full with water. Light the candle with a _ or a lighter. What can you see? The candle is burning. _ the candle burn for two or three minutes. Then carefully put the jar over it until the top of the jar rests on the dish. As the candle burns, it _ the oxygen in the air. When the candle stops _, it has used up all the oxygen in the air.
