A groups IQ (智商), we might think, would be simply the average intelligence (平均智力) of the groups members, or perhaps the intelligence of the groups smartest member. _1_A groups intelligence comes outfromcommunications that go on within group. They were not allowed to hang out with other kids after school. They had to be the top students in their classes. Chua says, like her, most Asian mothers are tigers because they believe their children can achieve a lot if theyre pushed hard enough. _ They care more about their childrens self-esteem (自尊). They dont want to push their kids too hard for fear of hurting their feelings. American mothers encourage their children to find their own path. So, is a tiger mom better than a pussycat? Scientists in different countries have been studying the effects of willpower on peoples lives for a long time. The results are similar, according to an article on February 7 in the Guardian, a famous British newspaper. In one experiment, scientists told young children that they could either have a marshmallow(圆形软糖) now, or two marshmallows in 15 minutes._2_ Scientists then continued studying the children as they grew up. They wanted to see if some children always had stronger willpower. They also wanted to see how having stronger willpower affected their lives. _3_Oppositely, the children who had shown weaker willpower at that young age were more likely to be in low-paid jobs, to be overweight, to have social problems. Someone once said if you find a job that you enjoy, then you wont have to work another day._ I would like to be the most valuable member there. All this is possible only if I like what I do. The second one is that the area of my work must lead me to solve some new and hard problems._ In order for this to happen, the work must provide enough problems. More than just working to live, I enjoy making a difference and trying my best for the whole progress. I would also like to be well remunerated for my hard work, so I can lead a comfortable life with this hard-won money. Then I can provide the best for my family. The third important thing is that I would like to work in an area that would help other people. The work in my mind is in fields such as the army, training or management. In such areas, I can help to develop the abilities of others and bring out their best. _ When I become old, I would like to look back with a great sense of satisfaction that thousands of people have become better persons through my work. I accept the idea that no one should make a choice of a job suddenly or quickly. _Then, he should decide how he works towards it. He should study the proper courses, read the books and speak to knowledgeable persons in that field before making a job choice. But many foods now come in pill(药片) form, and the food that goes into the pill comes mainly from green plants. Because people in the world today are many more than those about fifty years ago, most of the earths surface has to be filled. The deserts are irrigated with water and crops are no longer eaten by pets(害虫). _ Farming, of course, is very highly developed. _ It is possible to run the farm by just using a few computers. People are now largely vegetarians, and they eat only bread, vegetables, fruit and so on and they dont eat meat or fish. You see, as the number of people increases, the number of animals decreases.
