inctandtypicalcomplementaryfunctionsinamanufacturingorganization.Mostfirmsneedbothfunctionsrepresentedintheirorganizationstobetrulyeffective.Ifonetriestosubstituteonefunctionfortheother,thefunctionomittedtypicallyrepresentsaweaknessinthatmanufacturingorganizationthatwilllikelylimittheoverallcapacityofthetechnicaleffortinthatorganization.,ManufacturingEngineering,Atypicalmanufacturingengineeringdepartmentiscomposedofnumeroustechnicalprofessionals(mechanicalengineers,thermodynamicists,materialengineers,computerscientists,etc.).Eachprofessionalrepresentssomepartofthetechnicalprocessesinuseatthatmanufacturingplant.,ManufacturingEngineering,Themachinetoanindustrialengineerisablackboxthathasaproductionrate,yieldrate,requiredoperatorskills,processcapabilities,andotherproductionsystemattributes.Theindustrialengineerisconcernedwithdevelopingaproductionsystemthatproducestherequiredquantityofproductsatanappropriatecostandquality.,ManufacturingEngineering,Theindustrialengineeringresponsibilityinvolvestheintegrationofworkers,machines,materials,information,capital,andmanagerialknow-howintoaproducingsystemthatwillproducetherightproduct,attherightcost,attherighttime.Manufacturingengineeringtechnicaltalentisoneoftheunderlyingtechnicalplant-supportingresourcesthatguaranteesuccessofthatproductionsystem.,ManufacturingEngineer
