German culture VS American culture 蒋开芳 学号：201403020514GermanyI grew up with a dream to have a further study in Germany, although I have heard a lots of assessment about German, such as inflexibility, stiffness and so on. However, I do believe that they even have known nothing authentically about Germany, while I have not went to Germany yet, but Ive already gathered a lot of information about Germany from all kinds of social networking site and communication website. There are some reasons why Im interested in Germany and its easier for me to adapt.First of all, Id like to introduce something about education that I have known. Its quite different from our country that their higher education is separated from the professional education and their ultimate goal of education is not to invest or money, Which can be considered to be a revolutionary idea.Secondly, its a nation of economy, modesty, and caution, while these features were interpreted as conservative and stiffness. There are some examples to explain these misunderstandings. Example 1: We can often see a sign on the construction site, which marks the completion time. In Germany, almost all of the projects will be finished as the sign marks.Example 2: I have ever seen an authentic story about a student who is the first time to catch bus. He has known that he needed to buy the monthly tickets, while he has no idea that he needs to buy it on the bus station, so he said that he will buy a day tickets. However, the conductor said: if you are going to buy monthly tickets, you neednt to buy todays ticket, because your monthly ticket has included todays ticket”.Through two of these examples we can find out how caution they are, especially in the aspect of time. (Its really a good habit to be punctual) Whats more, the trust among people is an important symbol of social civilization and German have deeply showed their trust among people.In a word, although there are lots of rules in Germany, yet it never lacks of human feelings under the rules.Thirdly, the independent personality is another fascinating feature. You will find that there is no value of middle bourgeoisie, no “Germany Dream” and no one will go rush to the profitable jobs, such as, doctor, lawyer and so on. Young people are independent early and strongly individualize themselves. They wont drift with the current. In most countries, especially in china most of people follow the fads and buy the luxury cloth even beyond their payable ability. However, in Germany, they prefer to dress comfortable to fashionable. Finally, once an unexpected discovery, I got to know” Bauhaus” style, which is originated from Germany as a design school. Nowadays, its widely used in architecture (room decoration), industrial productions and even the education and all of theses are exhibited in the form of aesthetics. It spreads from Germany to all over the world. This thought has greatly affected Germany in many aspects, so Id like to share this culture. All of these points are just a little part of Germany culture, while this is an epitome of Germany and illustrate why this nation can be so strong and prosperous.In conclusion, Germany in my mind, “calmness, sagacity, depth, and the acme of perfection is absolute not on the superficial form”.AmericaAmerica, although I appreciate some aspects of America, it still a country that is hard for me to adapt. There are some reasons as follow. When talking about America, the culture of fast food firstly comes to my mind. It seems that a hamburger with a cup of cola can be a dinner. I have no idea of that this is true or not, but I can find that most of time American will have a easy and fast lunch and even dont know how to enjoy the real food on TV. (To be honest, its not easy for me to live here because of the monotonous food. They care less about the exquisite food and they pursue the fast convenience. Have you ever heard a girl from Sichuan province who loves hotpot to care which restaurants have the authentic Angus beef of their hamburgers?)Secondly, the culture of party must be mentioned when comes to Americas culture. We even cannot count how many types of parties, such as, Bachelor party, surprise party, holiday party and so on. Although lots of people gather together can be alive, its still hard for me to adapt such a noisy environment and most of time Im fond of communicating with several friends in a quiet environment.Thirdly, as we all know that America is a culture melting pot, which means that people come from different countries and its really very hard to remember a name, such as Gustaf Granstrand, Gustav Kennesting and so on. I ts very embarrassing when someone says “hello” to you and you even cannot remember his/her name. Wh
