Step 2;D o a reading comprehension training. Assign a new task.Step3: Warm-up and Presentation:In the last several periods we talked about saving endangered animals.Today well focus on the environment because pollution is serious in our life nowdays.so,how to save our planet? After learning 1a,I believe you will have your own ideas.Step4;Ask Ss to read each one to the class and translate them into Chinese.Write a number 1in front of the easiest thing to do ,a number 2 in front of the second easiest thing to do ,and so forth.Step5:Check the answers.Ss will probably have different answers. Call on Ss to say why they think a certain thing is easy to do and another thing is difficult to do .Step6: List some important phrases in 1a.For instance, stop riding in cars.recycle paper .turn off the shower.use paper towers.Step7:Look at 2a and read the instructions to the class.Say now you will hear Jack and Julia talk about what they are doing to help save the planet.Check the things that Jack and Julia talk about.Play the recording the first time .Ss only listen. Play the recording a second time.Say listen carefully and check the things that Jack and Julia talk about.Check the answers.Step8:Complete 2b.This activity provides practice in undersanding the target language in spoken conversation.Read the instructions to the class in 2b.Say you will hear the same recording again.Point to the three column headings in the chart and tell Ss the meanings.Say,this time ,please check the things that Julia is doing now ,the things she will do in the future,and the things she would never do.Play the recording again.Check the answers.Step9:Pairwork.Role play a conversation using the information from the chart above.Say what is true for you.Offer Ss for 5-8 minutes to make a conversation.Ask Ss to work in pairs.Move around the classroom and check the progress of the pairs and offering help as needed. Finally, please one or two pairs to show their conversations to the class.Step10:Summary.In this lesson ,we have learned some important sentences、phrases. especially ,it made us realize the importance of protecting our planet.
