5、fe? (Show some pictures of inventions to them) Yeah, TVs, computers, washing machines, cars. Things like these are called inventions. And this week we will begin a new unit about inventions. You can see inventions all around us, from TV to car, from food to clothing. We should say nobody can live wi
6、thout them. Dont you think so? Can you imagine one day without inventions?Ss: Thats impossible.T: Yes, we live in a world of inventions. These inventions make our life easier and more comfortable. In this unit, we will learn some inventions and their history. First, lets get to know some new words.S

Present the four great inventions in ancient China by showing them pictures of them.( gun power, paper, moveable type print and compass )- When was moveable type print invented?- It was invented in the Song dynasty.- Who was it invented by?- It was invented by Bishen - What was

Students talk about other inventions using the similar sentencesStep III Practice Ask the students to explain the words in Section A of Unit 9 in their own words Ask the students to talk about when the things in picture of 1a on P68 were invented. And then
9、 number the in the order that they were invented.They could talk like this:A: I think the calculator was invented before the computerB: Well, I think the calculator was invented after the computerStep IV listening ( Page 68 1b.)1. Play the tape for the first time and ask the students to close their
10、eye and listen to the recording, and ask them to get the main idea of the conversation while listening. They should answer: “what are they talk about?” “Who are talking?” 2. Play the tape again for the students to match the inventions with the date.3. Check the answers.4. Play the tape again and stu
