1、Unit 1 Friendship Reading Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Its my great honor to present my lesson here. My topic today is Annes best friend, from Unit 1Friendship, Book 1. My teaching plan is made up of 4 parts, which is Analysis of the teaching material, Analysis of the students and teaching me
2、thods, Teaching Procedures and Blackboard Design.Part 1 Analysis of the teaching material1. StatusThe reading passage “Annes Best Friend” is loaded with the most important language and cultural information of Unit 1, whose topic is “Friendship”. It talks about that the Jewish girl Anne, a victim of
3、the WWII, had to hide from the German Nazi and regarded her diary as her best friend. In the diary, she described her eagerness for friendship, peace, freedom and especially nature and the outside world. Its a good material for students to appreciate the language, get to know the sufferings of the J
4、ews and reflect upon the importance of friendship, peace, as well as of cherishing the present.II. Teaching aims 1.Ss will master the usage of new words and phrases appearing in the reading part with contexts; 2.Ss will develop their reading ability and learn different reading skills, such as guessi
5、ng, fast reading, scanning and careful reading, learn to appreciate the literature work and try to apply them in their writing; 3.Ss will have a deeper understanding of the sufferings of the Jews during the WWII by videos and by reading about How Anne felt and thought as well as what she was eager f
6、or. 4.Ss will get some inspirations from reading about friendship, about wars, and about the present Know what a good friend should be and cherish their friendsTeaching important points1). 7、rent reading skills for different reading purposes. 2). Enable the students to evaluate friends and friendship.Part 2 Analysis of the Students and teaching methodsThe Senior 1 students are familiar with the topic but they may not be fully aware of the sufferings of the Jews during the WWII. With the
8、 accumulations in the junior high school, they have mastered some basic reading skills but may have some difficulties in understanding the long and complex sentences in the diary. Therefore, the class is aimed at training their reading skills, guiding them to appreciate the literature work, inform t
9、hem of the sufferings of the Jews in the WWII, and inspire them to have some thoughts on friendship based on their reading.To learn in use and to use in learn is always what we are advocating in English teaching and learning. So I will use some teaching methods to help the students to master more re

12、 by looking at the picture and 1st para?- Her diary. Its called Kitty2.Why is the diary her best friend?-She could tell everything to her diary without worries. Any other?3. Now observe the text carefully to find out: How many parts it contains? What the different parts are about?It contains two par
13、ts. One part is one page of Annes diary, the other one is the background knowledge about Anne and her diary.Step3 Reading 1. Scan the 1st part of the text and fill in the form belowWhat time and place did Anne lived in? - World War IIWhich ethnic group did she belong to? - NetherlandsWhat did she do
14、 during the time? - Jews/Jewish peopleWhat did she do? - Hid to avoid being caught by Nazis2. Ask the question “What happened to Anne if she was caught by the German Nazi?”, play the video, and add some background information about the history.-If any persons known to be Jews were found, they would
15、be sent to concentration camps(集中营), Holocaust, Gas Chambers(毒气室)3.Ask the question: What did Anne see?
