4、另一个所比较的人或事物。在上下文明确的情况下，形容词比较级也可单独使用。例如：（1）tom is taller than jack . tom 比 jack 高（2）this box is bigger than that one . 这只箱子要比那只箱子大。（3）that ruler is longer than this one . 那把尺子比这把尺子更长。（4）mary is younger than me（或i）. mary 比我年轻。（5）kates room is nice and her mothers room is nicer . kate 的房间很漂亮，她母亲的房间更漂亮。

5、注：注：than在句中作状语，than 后面的代词按照语法规则应用主格，但在口语中也可以用宾格来代替主格。3. 形容词最高级用于三者或三者以上的人或事物之间的比较，表示在一群人或事物中，其中一个“最”。表示这一意思时形容词要用最高级形式，最高级前一般要加定冠词the，句中一般有一个表示比较范围的介词 of 或 in 短语，of 后面一般接表示一群人或事物的代词或名词，in 后面一般接表示每一单位或场所的名词。例如：（1）she is the youngest of the three children . 这三个孩子中她年纪最小。（2）marys cake is the biggest of
