6、Objectives:一 Advise the Steering Committee on risk management and methodology priorities.一 Develop and promulgate standardized methodologies for research on enteric zoonotic diseases.一 Develop, impleme nt and review conceptual models for man aging Campylobacter a nd other zoonotic organisms.Research

7、 commissioned and coordinated by the Steering Committee has lead to: Better understanding of the ecology and transmission of Campylobacter. Development of quantitative risk assessment models for Campylobacter. Development of guidelines for more effective interventions to prevent water and food-borne

8、 diseases.The Steering Committee has:一 Transmitted its research priorities to the Foundation for Research, Science and Tech no logy 一 Played important roles in facilitating Cross Department Research Pool research on Campylobacter.一 Facilitated establishment of a National Reference Culture Collection

9、 for zoonotic microorganisms一 Facilitated establishment of PulseNet Aotearoa New Zealand, a database for typing and tracking zoonotic microorganisms一 Established a website: zoonosesresearch.ora.nzOutputs of work sponsored by the Steering Committee include: A survey of phenotypic and genotypic method
