1、Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. Im very honored to stand here to give you a speech about my teaching design. The lesson Ill talk about is Unit7 A letter to a penfriend from Oxford English for primary school, Book 6B. Ill analysis this design in eight aspects: course, students, aims, points, di

2、fficulties, methods, procedures, and blackboard design.Now Ill talk about the course. This is the first peorid of Unit7. And it covers three parts(B, C and E. In part B, the students will learn a new word: writing paper. And theyll learn the sentence patterns, but the sentences Can I havea/an/some/t

3、he ? I want to Sure. Here you are. the students have learned before, so the new sentence pattern for them is What for?. Part E is the most important part in this lesson. It is just to teach the students how to introduce themselves to their penfriend by a letter.The next part is students. Since the s

4、tudents are in six grade, they are active and curious. But they lack vocabularies, so they are not good at writing and speaking. Some of them may be too shy to speak. So, Ill let them speak and learn something new by creating a good class atmosphere.Then Ill talk about my teaching aims. This part in

5、clude two aims: knowledge aims and skill aims. Firstly, knowledge aims: (1To enable the students read and spell the new words and understand the meaning of them. (2 To let the students know how to use the new sentence patterns Can I have a/an/some/the ? What for? I want to Sure. Here you are. (3 Mak

6、e sur e the students can write a letter to their penfriend. Secondly, skill aims. (1 To practise the students skills of listening, speaking and writing.(2 To practise the students communicative skill and creativity.The fourth part is teaching points. The key points of the lesson is to make the stude

7、nts read the words correctly, understand the meaning of the new sentence patterns and use them. And also let them know how to write a letter.The next part is difficult points of the lesson. Since theyre just in six grade, it may be a little bit hard for them to write a letter. And they havent enough

8、 vocabularies, so its difficult for them to speaking and writing.Next Ill talk about the teaching methods. Because the students are young and they can not focus on the class, so its important to fire their enthusiasm. Theyll learn faster in a good atmosphere. Ill let the students play the principle

9、role in each class. That is student-center teaching. And also task-based learning and activity-based teaching with individual work, pair work, group work and class work.Then, Ill talk about my teaching procedures: Ill follow four steps.Step1 Warm-upIll have a free talking with the students, because

10、free talking is an important way to improve the students abilit y of speaking and of course it can prepare for the next step. Ill ask the students some questions like: What day is it today? Whats your favorite subject? What do you like doing? Do you like writing letters? Do you have a penfriend to w

11、rite to?Step2 PresentationIn the free talk, Ill lead the students to todays topic “write a letter a penfriend”. Then Ill show them a picture about Peter, a English boy who wants to make a penfriend in China. Next, Ill talk about Peter to let them know him. Like ho w old is he? What are his hobbies?

12、Where does he come from? Where does he go to school? What subjects does he study? How about his family? Next Ill let the students give a short passage about Peter. Like: Peter comes from England. He lives in London. He studies at St Johns Primary SchoolThe purpose of this part doesnt only practice t

13、he students ability of expressions, but also prepare for the next step. Then Ill say “Now you know much about Peter, do you want to make penfriends with him.” Maybe the students will say “Yes.” So Ill teach them how to write a letter. In this part, Ill use the sentences patterns and the new words. A

14、t the same time, I show the word and its picture and the sentence patterns in the screen. Let the students read the word after the record one by one and practice the drills. I think the students can remember the new word more deeply by this way. Reading after the tape can check if the students read

15、the word correctly. And teach them how to write a letter can stimulate their in terest. Its easier for them to master the sentence patterns in a relaxed atmosphere.Step3 Production1. Look and say. I will choose some exercises and let the students do the pair work.It is to practise the new sentence p

16、atterns. I think game is a better way toconsolidate the new knowledge than just let the students say the dialogue one by one. If the students guess it, I will give them some writing paper as their presents.2. Write a letter. I will let students write a letter to their penfriend Peter. Beforewriting,

17、 Ill show them Peters letter and let the students read it and understand the meaning of it. Then let them know how to introduce themselves to Peter by aletter. At last, the students write it. The purpose is to improve the students ability of writing and know a new way to communicate with others.Step4 AssignmentIll leave them to assignments. First, writing exercise. Writing is
