7、rgymaterials。and species between the ecosystems.So.we can use the principle of overcoming landscape resistance or paying the cost to depict effects of the paaern on ecological processes.Ac. cording to landscape ecology,there always exist some landscape elements like waters.core patch of forest land

8、and large area of grassland.which contribute positively to the develop. merit of the ecological processes(Chen,2005.Therefore,based on the spatial analysis of cost.distanceextension of Arcgis.we formulated the accumulative resistance model in or-der to provide a characterization of the effects of re

9、sistance of the landscape on development of ecological flows ifl spatial surface.The model mainly involve source.effective distance. resistance of different landscape types.which iSdetermined by the following formula: 368Journal ofGeographical Sciencesthe least-cost paths between patches ofsourcelan

10、dscape were found out,which representsthe series of ceils which resulted in the lowest cost value for that patch(Figure 6.So,thispathcan be usedas anoptimum wayorcorridor for ecological planning.
