2、作为新型沟通方式之一的电子邮件,其优势在于能够跨越时间、地 域和经济屏障以及能够迅速及时准确发送多样化信息。既作为文化载体 又作为交际手段双重身份的电子邮件已经引起广泛研究兴趣。纵观国内 外商务电子邮件研究,大多侧重对语言学、语用学中礼貌原则研究,而 从跨文化交际角度对商务电子邮件面子观方面研究屈指可数。面子是交 际双方的公众形象,不同文化对面子观有不同理解,采用适当易于交际 双方接受的面子策略更有助于信息的有效顺畅传达,获得理想交际效果,因此面子观研究迫在眉睫。本文试图从跨文化交际角度研究跨国公司商 务邮件,特别讨论文化因素对面子策略(参与和独立)的影响。课题要求:1. 商务英语邮件的特点2

Adopt ing suitable face strategies is helpful for effective in formatio n tran smissi on so that expected com muni cative results can be a

16、tta in ed. Con seque ntly, research on face strategies is beco ming extremely urge nt. This research intends to explore the effect of cultural eleme nts on face strategies used in bus in ess E-mails of multi-nati onal corporati ons from a perspective of in tercultural com muni cati on. Results from

17、this study show that application preference on strategies of involvement and in depe ndence exists in bus in ess emails. In both collectivistic and in dividualistic culture, positive and optimistic attitude is preferred; as for strategies of in depe nden ce, people prefer that strategy of more freed

18、om and options is given to the opposite.Questions:1. Zhang Linying: What is the feature of business emails?Answer: As the main com muni cati on tools, bus in ess letters will be the very importa nt literary proofs whe n disputes arise. Therefore, bus in ess letters tran slati on must be accurate and

19、 appropriate, or it will bring great i nconveniences or losses to intern atio nal bus in esses. There are seve n specific stylistic features for bus in ess emails, which can be called the seve n C's: complete ness, con crete ness, clear ness, conciseness, courtesy,considerationand correctness.
