24、文的关系是什么?2.1 The Definition标题大写 of Intercultural CommunicationIt has been fifty years since the intercultural communication become an international subject. When it comes to the intercultural communication, many people give the different definitions about this term. Intercultural Communication is a f
25、orm of communication which aims to share information between different cultures or social groups. It is used to describe a wider range of communication processes that naturally appear in an organization or society. And individuals in the organization or society are from different religious, social,
26、ethnic and educational backgrounds. Intercultural communication is sometimes used synonymously with cross-cultural communication. The European researcher Daniele Trevisani pointed out the semantic distinctions between Intercultural Communication and Cross-Cultural Communication. And communication sh

In other words, Cross-Cultural Communication is a

29、this interaction 3.2.2 The Definition of the Culture and Conflict大写 What is culture? There is not a fixed definition. American linguist Linell Davis defines the culture as follows: “Culture is the total accumulation of beliefs, customs, values, behaviors, institutions and communication patterns that
30、 are shared and passed down through the generations in an identifiable group of people. This is properly the most widely accepted definition of culture” 4:24格式. This word “conflict” consists of two parts. “com” and “fligere” respectively refers to “together” and “clash” in terms of this words Latin

Conflicts, namely, divergence, existing in every society, is a clash between different faiths, opinions, values, demands and objectives. As for intercultural communication, conflicts can be defined as an imp

The meaning of the words or sentences seems to be same, but may be radically different in different cultures. The

However, in Japan, people often talk to others using “hai”, which means that they have understood what you said. It is absolutely not rel

Main Conflicts in Intercultural Communication3.1 The Conflict on Greeting LanguageChinese people have attached great importance to the modesty in communication with others since ancient China. Moreover, they often respect others but look down upon themselves. They d
35、eem it as a Chinese traditional virtue and a polite manner with Chinese characteristics. Thus, when Chinese people are praised by others, they often tend to show their modest. However, western countries do not have this phenomenon. When people praise them, they would be very happy and say “Thank you
36、” to others to show their acceptance of the praise. Because of the cultural differences, Chinese people often believe that western people are too confident to know about the fact that modesty is a kind of traditional virtue in Chinese culture. Meanwhile, western people do not agree with Chinese peop

Western people are often very surprised by some Chinese manners, and they think that Chinese people are dishonest 5格式. Another example, Chinese people would like to greet each other by using“吃饭了吗”,“到哪儿去”,“上班呀”and so o

In western countries, people often said “hello”, “hi”or “How are you” instead.3.2 The Conflict on PrivacyThe privacy se

Chinese people bear a fixed idea in the mind that individuals should involve in the collective, and people in the collective should be fraternal, love and care for each other. So Chinese people are ready to know more about other pe

They prefer to have personal space than willingly tell others about their own things, and they do not want others to interfere with their life. As a result, various conflicts on priva

A case in the point is that when Chinese people encounter with others for the first time, they would like to ask somebody about their age, marriage, family, profession and even their income or something. Chinese people th

43、Generally speaking, it is to tell people what to do and what cannot to do. It is common that people tend to judge others behavior with their own behavior standards when they communicate with others who are from different cultural backgrounds. It has always caused misunderstanding, trouble or even wo

For instance, patting on the head of a little child stands for Chinese peoples friendliness while it is not respectful for the little child in western countries. And his or her parents would be very angry with you. Therefore, the standard of

In order to make sure the successful intercultural communication, people must know more about other different cultures especially what is the taboo and the best way of successful intercultural communication is “Do in Rome as R

The former is a sense of time that emphasize the efficiency of doing something and tends to make short-term plans. But the latter spends time flexibly and tends t

Just as the saying goes “Time is money”, which is a deep-rooted thought. Therefore, they cherish time ve

In western countries, if you would like to call on someone, you have to inform them or date with them ahead of time, and you also should te

The spending of time is comparatively random and Chinese people are short of strictly careful planed arrangements as the westerners do. And th

Doing something inefficiently and being late for the appointments would often occur in the daily life, which is often taken as the behaviors of irresponsible and arrogant. While the western people is the future ori

It seems that the western people have the time sense, plan carefully and do something effectively. But at the same time, they cannot spend t

This lifestyle may make Chinese people feel uncomfortable because of the tension of time and fast-paced lifestyle.3.5 The Summary of Main ConflictsIn the intercultural communication, many conflicts may impede the communication because of the conflicts on g

Therefore, in order to get rid of the barriers and achieve successful intercultural communication, it is necessary to find out the reasons of the main conflicts and find the solutions of these problems. 4. Therefore , no one can correctly give a definition of culture because the range of culture is wide including many aspects such as values, customs, religious, faith and so on. Confucianism is
