8、 attention on把注意力集中在focus ones mind / thoughts on把心思集中在focus ones eyes on注视着 他发现他很难把他的注意力集中在学习上。 He found it hard for him to focus his attention on study. (3) apply A to B: 把应用于把敷/涂在Translate the following sentences into Chinese: The new technology was applied to farming.Apply the cream to your face
9、 and neck.拓展:apply for 申请 apply to sb. for sth. 向某人申请n. application 申请;应用;涂抹 (4) ought to do: 应该做 =should do 二者可以互换,但是should谈的是自己的主观看法;ought to则更多反映客观情况,在谈到法律、 义务和规定时使用。运用:他们应该道歉。 They ought to apologize. 否定式:They ought not to apologize. 疑问式:Ought they to apologize? (5) have an effect/effects on对有影响
10、;对有作用 你所说或所做的每一件事都会对别人产生影响。 What you say or do will have an effect on others. 拓展:have a positive/ negative effect on对有积极/消极的影响或作用 have no effect on 对没有影响或作用(6) , a high school student named Leah works hard for an English test. 过去分词短语作后置定语,表被动。 法语是国际会
11、议上被使用的主要语言之一。 (过分作定语) French is one of the major languages used at the international meetings. , critical-thinking skills are extremely valuable for young people beginning new careers. 现在分词短语作后置定语,表主动或进行。 正在做讲座的教授来自哈佛大学。(现分作定语) The professor giving the speech now is from Harvard University. 试一试:现分?过

(8) She knows what to study.特殊疑问词+不定式,在句中作宾语。 我不能决定何时动身。 I cant decide when to start. 你能告诉我怎么提高我的英语吗?Can you
14、tell me how to improve my English? (9) To get good grades, they need only to repeat exactly what they have heard.不定式短语在句中作状语,表目的,“为了” to+ do sth. = in order to+ do sth.为了拿100分,我们必须努力学习。 To get 100 points, we need to work hard. 要做这个蛋糕,你需要一些鸡蛋。To / In order to m
