、ork patterns 3.4.5 ARQ and FEC communication procedures3.4 NBDP terminal equipmentHF NBDP is compulsory equipment for sea area A4overview Narrow-Band Direct-Printing (NBDP), means of communication to exchange text messages It can achieve the automatic telex operations between ship-shore, ship-ship,

、ship station through shore station to connect with international telex network users. At the same time it can also transmit telex messages to a group of ships or all ships. 3.4 NBDP terminal equipment Primarily used as a means of subsequent communication for exchanging messages after initial contact

、 has been established by the use of MF/HF DSC. An optional means of long range communication in an A3 area & a required means of long range communications in an A4 area.overview3.4 NBDP terminal equipment 3.4.1 NBDP terminal composition 3.4.2 Main technology involved in the terminal 3.4.3 Error

、t Maritime Mobile Service identification number (MMSI). Before MMSI introduction, NBDP communication uses Selective Calling Number, the ship station is represented with 5 digits, and coast radio station is represented with 4 digits. At present, both of two (MMSI and Selcall) are compatible. MMSI: sh

、 constant ratio code (恒比码恒比码) to detect errors, uses Automatic Repetition reQuest (自动请求重自动请求重复复) and dual time diversity (二重时间分集二重时间分集) to correct errors. There are 2 work mode for NBDP communication: ARQ (自动自动请求重复请求重复) and FEC (前向纠错前向纠错). ARQ works with automatic repeat request error correction met

、hod; FEC works with dual time diversity error correction methods.3.4 NBDP terminal equipment3.4.2 Main technology involved in the terminalCoding technology involve in NBDPASCII The American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII, pronunciation: ass-kee) is a character-encoding scheme based

、 on the ordering of the English alphabet, it includes definitions for 128 characters: 33 are non-printing control characters that affect how text and space is processed; 94 are printable characters, and the space is considered an invisible graphic. ASCII codes represent characters in computers, comm

Most modern character-encoding schemes are based on ASCII.3.4 NBDP terminal equipment4B/3Y 4B/3Y seven unit constant ratio code consists of seven 0“ and 1 symbol, the 0 and 1 proportion is constant at 4:3. In practical use, 0 or B stands for space signal, 1 o

、r Y stands for mark signal. Seven-unit code has total of 128 different encoding, but of which meet 4B/3Y constant ratio is only 35. 3.4 NBDP terminal equipmentExample:01010014 B / 3Y code(7-bit constant ratio in order to detect error)0(space)1(mark)Coding technology involve in NBDPITA No.2国际电传国际电传2号

It is a five-unit codes, shore station NBDP device must convert 4B/3Y seven unit constant ratio to ITA No.2 codes and vice versa. In ITA No.2 codes, space signal is represented by letter A or digital 0, Mark letter Z or dig
