26、ction 91 -Schematic Diagrams1xii7 3 5 0 S E R V I C E M A N U A L 1 - Service CharacteristicsThe aim of this introductory chapter is to illustrate some of the characteristics of the 7350 of fundamental importance to the technical staff, in particular, where to find the equipment status and how to ke
27、ep it up to date.Identifying thsMost boards of the 7350 are identified:· by its Reference (950.) and its description, which is always indicated on the labels bar.· by the Serial Number (SN), indicated on the labels bar.Board Serial NumberBoard Reference·by the Configuration Index (CI)
28、, indicated by two decimal figures on the labels bar. The Configuration Index represents the HW level ofth. The Configuration Index is loaded in specific componentsmounted on each board.·when applicable, by its Firmware (FW) level, displayed in the System Configuration screen, Firmware Option (
29、see below).The PC Assembly, Connectors, Printer ECG, Key TGC and Key Switch boards are not equipped with flap thus this information is on labels affixed on the printed circuit.Configuration ScreenFrom the keyboard you can display the Configuration Screen. To do this, press the key and select SYSTEM
30、CONFIGURATION option. The unit will show:S E C T I O N 11C1hapter7 3 5 0 S E R V I C E M A N U A L The system configuration screen is organized in four folders:····General Boards FirmwareDemo licensesTo select a folder, use the trackball to position the cursor over the correct ta
31、b and press ENTER.GeneralThe screen displays:It is the unit serial numberSerial numberThe displayed data indicate:System Software···the release resident in the Processor board (RES). the Output Data System release (ODS).the installed SW release (STD followed by all numbers).It reports
32、 whichstandard (PAL or NTSC) has been set.standardThe active licences are listed in these fields.System Licenses and LicensesBoardsThS option has two columns.S E C T I O N 127 3 5 0 S E R V I C E M A N U A L The “Board” column lists all theinstalled boards. The “CI”columnliststheConfiguration Index
33、(the NN figures) of the installed boards.FirmwareThe unit displays:The Firmware option shows the installed boards equipped with Flash EPROM (“Board” column) and their Firmware version.Please note that the Flash EPROMs located on ths are partitioned intoseveral sectors. Each sector of the Flash is in
34、dependent and therefore each of themcan be separately programmed.S E C T I O N 137 3 5 0 S E R V I C E M A N U A L Demo LicensesService technician can activate the available Demo licenses.See further in this manual to know how to activate a Demo licenseA demo license lasts forty (40) working hours.
35、The “Demo licenses” display allows to check the status of the activated demo licenses to be checked.To exit from the System Configuration screen press OK.The System Configuration screen can be saved on USB pen drive through EXPORT option. The system creates a .txt file containing all Configuration S
36、creen information.When units ship from Esaote, prints of the initial configuration are placed in a pocket located on the bottom cover of the device. The technical staff will be responsible for kee these prints up to date when the configuration of the device changes.Malf-testAt power-on, the Processo
37、r board executes a self-test to check:··the Configuration Index and the FW level of thwhich SW release is installedsThe result of this self-displayed for a short time, before the Exam Startwindow appears. However you can access to the Configuration Screen in RealTime or inze by pressing th
38、ekey and selecting the SYSTEMCONFIGURATION option.The initial self-test has a dual function:S E C T I O N 147 3 5 0 S E R V I C E M A N U A L ·“Self-configuration”If new features have been added (e.g. a new license has been installed), the CPU automatically reconfigures itself to manage the new
39、 devices. The Configurationdisplay indicates the changes: with reference to the same example above, thescreen will show the new license name on the “Licenses” field.·ControlThe Processor board checks for internal warning message.s and, if there are any, displays aConfigurationsIf there ares bet
40、ween the HW levels of boards or between HW and SW,the system stops at teral Configuration screen and displays a warningmessageing the reason of the. For example, the unit displays thefollowing message:System Configuration Error: Board(s) not available or not compatibleIn thS option, all the fields t
41、hat caused theare displayed in red.If the cause is a board having a configuration index incompatible with the HW level of the device, the Configuration Index field of that board will be red. Thisscreen thus represents a useful diagnostic tool for technical staff. This screen may be bypassed by press
42、ing the CANCEL key and access gained to the Exam Start window.Updating the DeviceThe 7350 is designed so as to minimize the number of update procedures that require changing or replacing hardware in the system. This is possible due to the use of Flash EPROM which may be updated by means of a Compact
43、 Disk without having to disassemble the device.Each unit has a Combo drive installed on the left-hand sideThe SW used on the machine is installed physically on the Processor board: the procedure for updating the SW release does not require any boards or CIs to be changed. As we have seen, the releas
44、e installed appears on the Configuration display.The same philosophy is used for storing all the probe control tables. Whenever the number of probes managed by the 7350 is changed, the new Acoustic Output Data must be loaded from a CD.The release installed in the Flash EPROM is controlled using the

46、ools you need in order to access the 7350 internal parts, to activate the Service procedures and to perform a functional test of the unit.Disassembling EquipmentIn order to access the 7350, the following tools are needed:The disassembling procedures areed in Section 2ToolDimensionDynamometric Philli

Low torqu
48、es are recommended.In order not to damage the parts during the disassembling procedures, it is recommended to use the torques values indicated in Section 2.Service ProceduresThe service procedures that require an interaction with the unit, as for example the language setting, can be activated only t
49、hrough the service key. The service key is provided with an USB connector and can be inserted in any of the two USB ports placed on the front panel.Service keyP/NThe key must be inserted before switching on the unit, to be able to access to theseveral services. If the procedure is not carried out pr

51、and Re-writable CDTo perform a complete check of the unit, it is suggested to always have an USB pen drive and a re-writable CD. These tools allow the service technician to test the functioning of the Combo drive and of the USB ports.S E C T I O N 187 3 5 0 S E R V I C E M A N U A L 3 - PrecautionsA
52、 series of precautions that must be observed each time you perform an operation on the 7350 are emphasised below:·the equipment must always be switched off before carrying out any service operation. In the same way, all the probes and peripherals(externalmonitor,printer, disconnected.-recorder.
53、)mustalsobe··ths may only be removed when the equipment is powered off.an electrostatic discharge occurring through the contact with the operator, can irreparably damage the electronic components on 7300 boards, that are sensitive to electro-static discharges: we therefore recommend that you take precautions to prevent these discharges each time a board has to be removed/installed. In operational terms, this means:othe machine must rest on an electro-static mat connected to earth.the
