27、资)等,通常作复 数。. 凡 是 由 -ings 结 尾 的 名 词 , 如 :clippings( 剪 下 来 的 东 西),diggings(掘出的东西),earnings畋入),filings(锂屑),lodgings(租住的 房屋),surroundings环境),sweepings(3拢的垃圾)等,通常作复数用。例 如:Theclippingsofthehedgesareusuallyburnt.Thesweepingsofthegodown仓库)havebeendisposedof.还有一些以-s接的单、复数同形的名词,如:headquarters总 部),means方法、手段),
