ItwaspreciselybecauseofcherishingsuchanaspirationthatIchosetospecializeincomputerscienceandtechnologyduringmyundergraduateprogram.ItisoutofthissamemotivationthatIhavedecidedtoapplyforaPh.D.programinComputerScienceandEngineeringatyouresteemeduniversity.YouruniversityistheacademicMeccaforyoungstudentsworldwideanditisinevitableformetoencounterfiercecompetitionsinmyapplication.However,mydevoutfaith,indefatigablestaminaandstrongacademicbackground,richpracticalexperienceandsoundresearchanddevelopmentability,allendowmewithfullconfidenceinthechallengingundertaking.

My4-yearundergraduatecareeratXXUniversityhasbeenveryrewarding.ThisisnotonlybecauseIhavebeenabletospecializeinanacademicfieldinwhichIaminterestedbutalsobecauseIhavemadesubstantialacademicachievements.MyoverallGPAreached84/100,withtop-rankingscoresinalmostallthecorecourses，anachievementwhichhasbroughtmescholarshipsandawardsfromtheuniversity.Thecoursesincomputersoftwareandnetworkhavefascinatedmemost.Basedonmyunderstandingofthesoftwareandnetworkandonthestudyofrelevanttheories,IappliedVisualC++andJavaLanguagetoundertakethenetworkeditionofgameprogramming.ThatbecamethefirstrealexperiencefromwhichItastedthepurejoyofundertakingscientificandtechnologicalexplorations.

Impressedbytherapidadvancesinnetworktechnologyandurgedbytheneedtoupdatemyknowledgeandtoachievenecessaryprofessionalqualifications,Ihavedevotedalargepartofmyextracurricularhourstotheextensivereadingofrecentliteratureandresearchpaperstokeepmyselfabreastwiththelatestdevelopmentsinnetworktechnology.Throughmycontinuedself-education,IobtainedmyMCSE(MicrosoftCertifiedSystemsEngineer)andCCNA(CiscoCertifiedNetworkAssociate)certifications.AtpresentIampreparingfortheCCNP(CiscoCertifiedNetworkProfessional).Onaccountofmyuniqueknowledgeandabilitiesinnetwork,IwaselectedchairmanoftheComputerNetworkAssociationofmyuniversityandasitsleaderIhaveorganizedaseriesofacademicevents,includinginviting

leadingnetworkspecialiststogiveseriallecturestotheAssociationmembersandtostudentsingeneral.

MydistinguishedacademicandextracurricularperformancecametotheattentionofsomeseniorprofessorsofmyuniversitywhointurnrecommendedmetotheSoftwareTechnologyHeadCompanyofXXProvincewhereIwasmaderesponsiblefortheresearchanddevelopmentofnetworkprojects.Asassistantengineerofthecompanysprojectteam,IparticipatedinthreemajorprojectsfeaturingthecampusnetworkoftheAgriculturalUniversityofXXProvince,theCampusNetworkoftheXXProvincialTaxationSchool,andthePhase-IINetworkProjectofXXProvincialLibrary.Thoseprojectinvolvedservers,BBSforum,mailservers,ISPloggingservice.IndesigningandimplementinganIntelligentNetworkEngineeringProject,IusedthebroadbandTCP/IPnetworkasthebasicenvironmenttorealizetheVOD(VideoonDemand),VOB(VideoonBroadcasting),livetelevisingofteachingandconferencing,videorecording,digitalcontrol,andthereplayinvolvingdozensofTVprograms.

Mytalentsandpotentialsincomputertechnologyhavewonrecognitionbeyondthecampus.IhavebeenlistedintheTalentGroupofXXCo.Ltd,aleadingcommunicationandnetworkequipmentmanufacturerinChina.Ihavebeenworkingpart-timeontheresearchandthedevelopmentofnetworkswitching.BythetimeIgraduateIcaneasilyfindfull-timeemploymentwiththiscompany.However,inordertofulfillmyaspirationofbecominganetworkspecialist,Iamreadytorelinquishthisopportunitywithitsassuredhighsalaryand

promisingcareerdevelopment.Instead,IaminfavorofcontinuingwithmyeducationincomputerscienceandtechnologybyseekingaPh.D.programintheUni
