OurAttendance&InterviewOnreceivingtheinstruction,theundersignedsurveyorgotcontactwiththelocalagent,andlearnedM.V.“CONFIDENCEOCEAN”waslyingatNo.2berthofLongyanshipyard,portofLongyan,P.R.China.Becausetheshortageofberth,MV."CONFIDENCEOCEAN"madefastalongsideanewshipnamedMV."POLAPAOAL"atthesameberth.Atabout1000hrsonSeptember1,2011,M.V.“CONFIDENCEOCEAN”gotberthedatNo.2wharfofLongyanshipyardforannualrepair.Atabout0930hoursonSeptember21,2011.Theundersignedattendedtheforesaidvesselafterthelocalimmigrationofficer’sformalprocedures.TheMasterCapt.ZhangZhentian,theChiefEngineerMr.ZhouYapingweremetintheship’soffice.ItwastoldthevesselbundforLongyanforherannualrepair.ThevesselwasreportedbeingdeliveredfromtheownersQingdaoHuiquanShippingCo,.Ltd.tothecharterersDAMPSKIBSSELSKABETA/SNORDENCOPENHAGEN,andgotonhireatabout0925hrsonSeptember22,2011.IncompanywiththeChiefEngineer,wedidperformbunkersurveyat1000hoursLMTonSeptember21,2011.Theundersigneddidcarryouthull/hold/anddeckfittingconditionsurveyandrecordproperly.Wedidinspecttheship’sconditiononhatcharrangement,deckequipment,mooringequipment,ladders,hullandetc.133.

Ship’sConditionM.V.“CONFIDENCEOCEAN”,abulkcarrier,wasbuiltbyOSHIMAShipyardCorporationanddeliveredonNovember16,1996,registeredatPanama,grossweightof10136.0tons,equippedwithendfoldingtypeofsteelhatchcovers/5cargoholdsand4deckcranes.Thenavigatingbridge,accommodationandengineerspacelocatedaft.Ship’sconditionwasinspectedatsite,whichwasnotedasfollows:143.1

Deckfittings

Thehatchcoverswereaboutinthesamehorizontallinewiththemaindeckwhenclosed,andgeneralflat,paintedwell,structurallyinsoundcondition.Windlassandwinchesonforecastleandpoopdeckmaintainedinsoundcondition;Airventsandairpipes,fillingpipes,watertightdoorswereinsoundcondition;thegangwaysandbulwarkwereinsoundcondition.163.3
