Procedure:

I.AttentionGrabber(5minutes):

-Beginthelessonbyaskingstudentswhattheywanttobewhentheygrowup.

-Encourageadiscussionbyaskingfollow-upquestionssuchasWhydoyouwanttobethat?andWhatskillsdoyouneedforthatjob?

II.VocabularyIntroduction(10minutes):

-DisplayaPowerPointpresentationwithpicturesofvariousjobsandoccupations.

-Gothrougheachpicture,repeatingthenameofthejoboroccupationandaskthestudentswhatitis.

-Writethenameofthejoboroccupationonthewhiteboard/chalkboard.

III.VocabularyPractice(15minutes):

-Showthepicturesagain,thistimeremovingthejobtitles.

-Askthestudentstoshoutoutthenameofthejoboroccupationthatcorrespondswitheachpicture.

-Aftereachpicture,elicitabriefdescriptionofthejoboroccupationfromthestudents.

IV.GuidedPractice(10minutes):

-Putthestudentsinpairsorsmallgroups.

-Giveeachgroupsomepicturesandhavethemmatchthejobsandoccupationswiththecorrectnames.

-Havethegroupspresenttheirfindingstotheclass,practicingthenewvocabulary.

V.IndependentPractice(15minutes):

-Handoutaworksheet(optional)withpicturesandawordbank.

-Havestudentsmatchthejobsandoccupationstothecorrectpicture.

-Oncecompleted,reviewtheanswerstogetherasaclass.

VI.Conclusion(5minutes):

-Reviewthejobsandoccupationslearntinthelesson.

b)Showpicturesofpeopleandhavestudentsdescribethemusingthenewvocabulary.Writetheadjectivesontheboard.

3.Practice(30minutes)

a)Dividestudentsintogroupsandgiveeachgroupapictureofaperson.

b)Studentsshouldworkintheirgroupstowriteadescriptionofthepersonusingtheadjectivestheyhavelearned.

c)Eachgroupshouldthenpresenttheirpersontotheclassandreadtheirdescription.

4.Production(20minutes)

a)Studentswillworkinpairs.

b)Giveeachpairapictureofapersonandhavethemdescribethepersontoeachother.

c)Studentswillthenexchangepicturesanddescribeanewpersontotheirpartner.

5.Assessment(10minutes)

Activities:

1.Warm-up(5minutes)

Teachershowspicturesofdifferenteverydayactions(e.g.brushingteeth,eatingbreakfast,takingashower)andelicitsfromstudentsthepresenttenseformsoftheverbs.Aftereachverbiselicited,theteacherwritesthemontheboard.

2.Presentation(20minutes)

Teachergivesabriefexplanationofsimplepresenttense,usingexamplesfromthewarm-upexercise.Theteachershouldexplainthatsimplepresenttenseisusedtodescriberoutineactions,habits,andgeneraltruths.Theteachershouldthenwritetheaffirmative,negative,andinterrogativeformsofsimplepresenttenseontheboard,explainingthestructureandprovidingexamplesforeachform.

3.Practice(25minutes)

Studentsworkinpairsandwritefivesentencesinsimplepresenttenseabouttheirdailyroutine.Afterwards,theyswitchpartnersandasktheirclassmatesabouttheirdailyroutineusingtheinterrogativeformofsimplepresenttense.Theteachercanmonitortheactivitytohelpstudentsasneeded.
