摘要:

欧盟碳市场旨在通过碳排放权的交易机制,实现温室气体排放减排目标,并作为一种可再生能源的激励机制。然而,自碳市场的正式运营以来,碳价格波动不断,交易风险也越来越高。因此,本论文以欧盟碳市场为研究对象,探究碳价格波动及交易风险的因素,借助VAR-GARCH模型对欧盟碳市场价格波动进行模拟和预测,利用ValueatRisk(VaR)和ExpectedShortfall(ES)方法对欧盟碳市场的风险进行度量。研究显示,欧盟碳市场价格受到多种经济因素的影响,包括宏观经济环境、碳市场供需关系、汇率等,且存在显著的季节性效应。此外,欧盟碳市场的交易风险主要来自市场波动性和不确定性的增大,通过VaR和ES方法的度量可以较好地反映这种市场风险。本研究对于掌握欧盟碳市场价格走势、降低交易风险具有重要的参考价值。

Abstract:

TheEuropeanUnionEmissionsTradingSystem(EUETS)aimstoachievegreenhousegasemissionreductiontargetsthroughcarbonemissiontradingmechanismsandservesasanincentiveforrenewableenergyproduction.However,sincetheformaloperationofthecarbonmarket,thecarbonpricehasfluctuatedcontinuously,andthetradingriskhasbecomeincreasinglyhigh.Therefore,thispaperexploresthefactorsaffectingcarbonpricefluctuationsandtradingrisksintheEUcarbonmarket.ByusingtheVAR-GARCHmodeltosimulateandpredictcarbonpricefluctuationsandmeasuretheriskoftheEUcarbonmarketusingtheValueatRisk(VaR)andExpectedShortfall(ES)methods.TheresearchshowsthatthepriceoftheEUcarbonmarketisaffectedbyvariouseconomicfactors,includingthemacroeconomicenvironment,thesupply-demandrelationshipinthecarbonmarket,andexchangerates,andthereisasignificantseasonaleffect.Inaddition,thetradingriskoftheEUcarbonmarketmainlycomesfromtheincreaseinmarketvolatilityanduncertainty,andthemeasurementthroughVaRandESmethodscanbetterreflectthismarketrisk.ThisstudyhasimportantreferencevalueforgraspingthetrendofEUcarbonmarketpricesandreducingtradingrisks.

Finally,geopoliticaleventscanalsoimpactcarbonprices.Forexample,ifthereispoliticalinstabilityorconflictinanoil-producingcountry,itcanleadtodisruptionsinoilsupply,pushingupoilpricesandpotentiallyleadingtohighercarbonprices.Similarly,policiesinmajoreconomiesoutsideoftheEU,suchasChinaandtheUS,canhaveanimpactoncarbonpricesasthesecountriesaremajoremittersofgreenhousegasesandsignificanttradingpartnersoftheEU.

Inconclusion,theEUcarbonmarketissubjecttoawiderangeofcomplexfactorsthatcontributetofluctuationsincarbonprices.Policymakersandtradersmustcarefullymonitorthesefactorsandbeawareofthetradingrisksassociatedwiththismarket.Additionally,effortstoreducegreenhousegasemissionsmustbeundertakeninagloballycoordinatedandsustainablewaytoensurethatthebenefitsofcarbontradingaremaximizedandtherisksareminimizedFurthermore,theEUmustalsoensurethatitscarbonmarketistransparentandwell-regulated.Themarketmustoperatewithinaframeworkthatisdesignedtopromotefaircompetition,preventabuses,andprotecttheenvironment.Toachievethis,theEUmustcreatestrongoversightmechanismsthatincluderobustmonitoring,reporting,andverificationsystems.Moreover,theenforcementofpenaltiesandsanctionsfornon-compliancemustbestringentenoughtodeterviolatorsfromengaginginfraudulentormanipulativeactivities.

Finally,theEUcarbonmarketmustbepartofacomprehensiveapproachtocombatingclimatechange.Carbonpricingisjustonetoolinthefightagainstclimatechange.TheEUmustinvestinrenewableenergy,energyefficiency,andotherlow-carbontechnologies,aswellaspromotesustainablelandusepractices,reducewaste,andpromotecirculareconomymodels.
