BiographyAudreyHepburnwasbornonMay4,1929inBrussels,Belgium,withthegivennameofEddaKathleenvanHeemstraHepburn-Ruston.Shereallywasblue-bloodfromthebeginningwithherfather,awealthyEnglishbanker,andhermother,aDutchbaroness.Afterherparentsdivorced,AudreywenttoLondonwithhermotherwhereshewenttoaprivategirlsschool.Later,whenhermothermovedbacktotheNetherlands,sheattendedprivateschoolsaswell.ItwasherethatshefellonhardtimesduringtheNazioccupation.Audreysufferedfromdepressionandmalnutrition.Aftertheliberation,AudreywenttoaballetschoolinLondononascholarshipandlaterbeganamodelingcareer.Asamodel,shewasgracefuland,itseemed,shehadfoundhernicheinlife--untilthefilmproducerscamecalling.Afterbeingspottedmodelingbyaproducer,shewassignedtoabitpartintheEuropeanfilmNederlandsin7lessen(1948)in1948.Later,shehadaspeakingroleinthe1951film,YoungWives'Tale(1951)asEveLester.Thepartstillwasn'tmuch,sosheheadedtoAmericatotryherluckthere.AudreygainedimmediateprominenceintheUSwithherroleinRomanHoliday(1953)in1953.ThisfilmturnedouttobeasmashingsuccessasshewonanOscarasBestActress.Thisgainedherenormouspopularityandmoreplumroles.Oneofthereasonsforherpopularitywasthefactthatshewassoelflikeandhadclass,unlikethesex-goddessesofthetime.RomanHolidaywasfollowedbyanothersimilarlywonderfulperformanceinthe1957classicFunnyFace(1957)，in1954,forwhichshereceivedanotherAcademynomination,andLoveintheAfternoon(1957),in1957,alsogarneredravereviews.In1959,she
