History

ofGuzhengTheguzhenghasexistedsincetheWarringStatesPeriod（戰國時期）andbecameespeciallypopularduringtheQindynasty.Theancientguzhenghad12strings,whichgraduallyevolvedintoitcurrentforms.

Theguzhengistunedtoapentatonicscale（五聲音階）,the16-stringzhengistunedtogivethreecompleteoctaves（八度）,whilethe21-stringzhenghasfourcompleteoctaves.
