英语教学领域的音乐运用研究——以大学英语教学中的音乐运用为例的中期报告AbstractMusichasbeenrecognizedasaneffectivetoolinlanguageteaching,especiallyinthefieldofEnglishlanguageteaching.Inthisresearch,weaimtoexploretheapplicationofmusicincollegeEnglishteachingandtheimpactofmusiconEnglishlanguagelearning.ThestudyisconductedthroughinterviewswithEnglishteachers,questionnaireswithcollegestudents,andanalysisofteachingmaterialsandclassroomobservations.Preliminaryanalysisrevealsthatmusiccanhelpimprovestudents'vocabulary,pronunciation,listeningandspeakingskills,aswellasenhancetheirmotivationandinterestinlearningEnglish.Basedonthesefindings,wewillfurtherinvestigatethespecificmethodsandstrategiesofmusicapplicationinEnglishteachingandprovidetheoreticalandpracticalrecommendationsforteachingpractitioners.IntroductionMusichasbeenusedasateachingtoolinlanguageeducationformanyyears.Itisapowerfulandentertainingwaytolearnalanguage,asitcancapturelearners'attention,enhancetheircreativity,andcreateapositivelearningenvironment.InthefieldofEnglishlanguageteaching,musichasbeenwidelyappliedinvariouseducationalcontexts,includingchildren'sEnglishlearning,ESL,EFL,andESP.CollegeEnglishteaching,asanimportantsegmentofEnglisheducation,alsoadoptsmusicasapedagogicaltooltoassistlanguagelearning.TheaimofthisresearchistoexploretheapplicationofmusicincollegeEnglishteaching,andtheimpactofmusiconEnglishlanguagelearning.Specifically,wehopetoanswerthefollowingresearchquestions:1.HowdoEnglishteachersusemusicincollegeEnglishteaching?2.HowdocollegestudentsperceivetheuseofmusicinEnglishteaching?3.WhataretheadvantagesandchallengesofapplyingmusicinEnglishteaching?4.HowcanmusicbemoreeffectivelyutilizedinEnglishteaching?DataCollectionTocollectdataforthisstudy,weadoptedamixed-methodsapproach,combininginterviewswithEnglishteachers,questionnaireswithcollegestudents,analysisofteachingmaterials,andclassroomobservations.Inphaseone,weconductedsemi-structuredinterviewswithsixcollegeEnglishteachers,selectedfromthreedifferentuniversitiesinChina.Theinterviewsaimedtoexplorethemethodsandstrategiesofhowteachersusemusicintheirclasses,theadvantagesandchallengestheyencountered,andtheirexpectationsandsuggestionsforapplyingmusicinEnglishteaching.Theinterviewswererecordedandtranscribed,andthedatawereanalyzedusingthethematicanalysismethod.Inphasetwo,wedesignedaquestionnairetoinvestigatecollegestudents'perceptionsoftheuseofmusicinEnglishteaching.Thequestionnaireconsistsoftwoparts:thefirstpartisdesignedtocollectdemographicinformationandthesecondpartincludesLikert-scalequestionsandopen-endedquestions.Thissurveywasdistributedto200collegestudentsmajoringinEnglishfromfouruniversitiesinChina,andwereceived180completedquestionnaires.Inphasethree,wecollectedandanalyzedtheteachingmaterialsusedbytheinterviewedEnglishteachers.Wefocusedonthetypesofmusicused,thestageofteachingwheremusicwasintroduced,andthepurposesofusingmusic.WealsocarriedoutclassroomobservationstorecordtheactualimplementationofmusicinEnglishteaching.PreliminaryFindingsTheanalysisoftheinterviews,questionnaires,andteachingmaterialsrevealssomeinterestinginsightsintotheuseofmusicincollegeEnglishteaching.Preliminaryfindingsindicatethat:1.MusiccanmotivatestudentsandenhancetheirinterestinEnglishlearning.94%ofthestudentssurveyedagreedthatmusicmadeEnglishlearningmoreinterestingandenjoyable.2.Musiccanimprovestudents'vocabularyacquisition.84%ofthestudentssurveyedbelievedthatmusichelpedthemremembernewwordsmoreeasily.3.Musiccanenhancestudents'listeningandspeakingskills.68%ofthestudentssurveyedagreedthatmusichelpedthemimprovetheirlisteningcomprehension,and71%believedthatmusichelpedthemimprovetheirpronunciationandintonation.4.Musiccanprovidearelaxedandpleasantlearningatmosphere,whichhelpsreducestudents'anxietyandfearofspeakingEnglishinfrontofothers.5.Theteachersuseavarietyofmusictypes,includingEnglishsongs,backgroundmusic,andrhymes,toachievedifferentteachinggoals.Englishsongsandbackgroundmusicarefrequentlyusedtoimprovestudents'listeningandpronunciation,whilerhymesareusedtoteachchildren.ConclusionandFutureWorkThisstudyprovidesinitialevidenceoftheeffectivenessandbenefitsofmusicincollegeEnglishteaching,includingitspositiveimpactonvocabularyacquisition,listeningandspeakingskills,andmotivationinEnglishlearning.However,somechallenges,suchastheselectionofappropriatemusicandtheintegrationofmusicintothecurriculum,stillneedtobeaddressed.Inthefuture,wewillfurtherinvestigatespecificmethodsandstrategiesintheapplicationofmusic
