2.Grasptheessentialcomponentsofaletteraboutpacking;1.knowtheimportanceofproperpackingandtermsofpackinginsalescontract;3.Mastertypicalsentencesandexpressionsinwritingthelettersonpacking.Introduction商品包装是商品在生产和流通过程中保护商品品质完好和数量完整的一种手段。在对外贸易中，做好商品的包装和装潢，还能起到美化商品，提高出口商品竞争能力，扩大销售的作用。进出口商品除散装货和裸装货外，大多数商品都需要包装，它不仅有助于销售，便于运输，储存和装卸，节约运费，减少破损，而且还便于销售。包装有两种形式：（1）外包装，即用于运输的包装；（2）内包装，即中小型的包装、盒子或销售包装。包装容器有：袋(bag)，麻袋(sack)，纸箱(carton)，箱子(case)，盒(box)，板条箱(crate)，桶(drum)，包(bale)，罐头(can或tin)，大玻璃瓶(carboy)，捆(bundle)，集装箱(container)，货盘(pallet)，不同容器供不同商品使用，具有不同用途。为了防止货物在运输途中的震动、破碎、受潮、锈损等，在包装中通常还使用纸屑、纸条，泡沫塑料等衬垫物。在外包装上一般都刷有运输标志，习称唛头。其目的是为了便于识别货物，以利运输装卸和储存。运输标志一般包括三个部分：1．收货人的标志——包括目的港。2．当局所需要的官方标志——有些国家需要在每件货物的箱（包）上标有货物的生产国名，以及每箱的重量和尺寸。3．特别指标或警告——为了货主和运输公司双方的利益，在包装上须印刷搬运方式、装货方式、起吊方式等的特别指示或警告。
