Grammar（第四课时）形容词的比较级和最高级

大多数形容词都有原级、比较级和最高级三种形式。比较级用于两个人或物的比较，表示“更……，较……”；最高级用于三个或三个以上的人或物的比较，表示“最……”，最高级前通常要加定冠词the。

1.形容词比较级、最高级的构成

（1）规则变化变化规则示例单音节和部分双音节形容词的比较级和最高级是在词尾分别加-er和-estnew→newer→newestgreat→greater→greatest变化规则示例以e结尾的单音节形容词的比较级和最高级是在词尾分别加-r和-stlate→later→latestfine→finer→finest以辅音字母加y结尾的形容词的比较级和最高级是变y为i，再加-er和-estbusy→busier→busiestdirty→dirtier→dirtiest续表变化规则示例以重读闭音节结尾且末尾只有一个辅音字母的形容词的比较级和最高级是双写该辅音字母，再加-er和-esthot→hotter→hottestthin→thinner→thinnest多音节词和部分双音节形容词比较级和最高级是在形容词前加more或mostcareful→more

（1）表示两者比较，常用“比较级+than”结构，意为“比……更……”，比较级前可以用even、much、a

lot、a

little、far等修饰。例如：

我的箱子比你的重多了。

（2）“比较级+and+比较级”表示“越来越……”。如果形容词是多音节形容词或部分双音节形容词，则用“more

and

more+形容词”。例如：

getting

warmer

warmer

now.

现在天气变得越来越暖了。

is

and

more

beautiful.

我们的家乡越来越美丽了。

（3）

“the+比较级……，the+比较级……”表示“越……，（就）越……”。例如：

careful

fewer

mistakes

make.

你越细心，你犯的错误就会越少。3.形容词最高级的用法（1）三者或三者以上人或物比较时用最高级，形容词的最高级前面一般要有定冠词the，后面常用表示范围的“of.../in.../among...”。此外，常用结构“one

of+the+形容词最高级+可数名词复数”表示“最……的……之一”。例如：Spring

is

the

nicest

season

in

a

year.

（2）序数词、物主代词和名词所有格等限定词都可以修饰形容词最高级，此时，最高级前面不要再加定冠词the。例如：
