连词

连词是短语、连接词、从句或句子的一种虚词，不能单独作句子成分。

按词义和句法作用分类，连词分为两类--并列连词和从属连词。

连词的用法：

1.并列连词的用法

(1)表示引申和增补意义

①and的用法

>连接两个或两个以上单词、短语或句子，意为“和，同，与”，表示顺承关系

Eg:LisaandIdecidedtowalktoschool.

It'simportantforustodevelopgoodeatingandlivinghabits.

>表示增补和强调，意为“而且，并且”

Eg:Helikesthesebooks,andTomlikesthem,too.

②both...and…的用法

只能连接两个并列成分，意为“…和...”、“既…又”，并列成分做主语时，谓语动词用复

数形式

Eg:BothsheandSarahareinterestedintalentshows.

Cindycanbothsinganddance.

③neither...nor...的用法

连接两个并列成分，意为“既不…又不...”，并列成分做主语时，谓语动词的形式遵循就

近原则。

Eg:NeitheryounorIamgoingtoattendthemeeting.

Hehasneithermoneynortime.

⑷notonly...butalso...的用法

连接两个并列成分，意为“不仅…而且…”。并列成分做主语时，谓语动词的形式遵循就

近原则。连接两个分句，notonly位于句首时，句子要倒装。

Eg:Notonlymysisterbutalsomyparentsliketheacto-verymuch.

Notonlydidhesayit,butalsohedidit.

⑤aswellas的用法

连接两个或两个以上并列成分，意为“同……一样；也”。并列成分做主语时，谓语动词

的形式遵循就远原则.

Eg:Theteacheraswellasthestudentsenjoystheschoolartfestival.

ShecanspeakChineseandEnglishaswellasJapanese.

(2)表示转折意义

①but意为“但是”

Eg:Wereachedschoolontimebuthewaslate.

②while意为“然而”，表示对比

Eg:Myfatherlikesreadingwhilemymotherlikeslisteningtomusic.

③yet意为“然而，可是”，常连接两个并列分句

Eg:Lifeisfineandenjoyable,yetyoushouldlearntoenjoyyourfinelife.

(3)表示选择关系

①or连接两个并列成分，意为“或”，表示一种选择关系。并列成分做主语时，谓语

动词谓语动词的形式遵循就近原则。

Eg:HeorIamnotresponsiblefortheaccident.

Doyouwanttotakeashower;orhavedinnerfirst?

②either...or...连接两个并列成分，意为“要么…要么...”，表示一种选择关系。并列成

分做主语时，谓语动词谓语动词的形式遵循就近原则。

Eg:EithersheorIamright.

(4)表示因果关系

for意为“因为”，语气比because弱,不能用于回答why的问句,不能置于句首。

Eg:You'dbetterputonyourcoat,forit'srathercoldoutside.

2.从属连词的用法

(1)引导状语从句

①引导时间状语从句

引导时间状语从句的从属连词主要有when,while,as,assoonas,before,after,since,

until/til等。

Eg:Whatwereyoudoingwhentherainstormcame?

Hisfathercamebackhomewhilehewasplayingcomputergame.

I'llcallyouassoonasIarriveShanghai.

Asshesang,thetearsrandownhercheeks.

Hebrushedhisteethbeforehewenttobed.

AfterMaryfinishedherhomework,shehelpedhermothercookdinner.

IhavelearnedEnglishsinceIwasfiveyearsold.

Shedidn'tgotothemoviesuntiltherainstopped.

②引导地点状语从句

引导地点状语从句的从属连词主要有where,wherever等

Eg:Wherethereisawill,thereisaway.

IwanttovisitwhereverIlike.

③引导原囚状语从句

引导原因状语从句的从属连词主要有because,since,as等

Eg:Hemissedthefirstbusbecausehegotuplate.

Sinceyousayso,theremustbesomethinginthisbox.

Asthetableiscoveredbyacloth,Idon'tknowwhat'sonit.

④引导结果状语从句

引导结果状语从句的从属连词主要有sothat,so...that...,such...that…等

Eg:Theproblemisverydifficult,sothathecan'tsolveit.

Pandasaresocutethatmanypeoplelikethem.

Sheissuchakindpersonthatshehasalotoffriends.

⑤引导条件状语从句

引导条件状语从句的从属连词主要有if,unless,aslongas等

Eg:Ifyoucometotheparty,you'llbehappy.

Youcan'tmakeprogressunlessyourealizeyourweakness.

Aslongasyousticktoyourdream,itwillcometrueoneday.

@引导让步状语从句

引导让步状语从句的从属连词主要有though,although,evenif,eventhough等，

though,although不能与but连用。

Eg:Although/thoughshefailed,shedidn'tgiveup.

Evenif/thoughhewasdisabled,everyonerespectedhim.

⑦引导目的状语从句

引导目的状语从句的从属连词主要有sothat,inorderthat等

Eg:Thegirlspracticedancingeverydaysothat/inorderthattheycanpresentaperfect

performance.

⑧引导方式状语从句

弓I导方式状语从句的从属连词主要有asif,asthough,as

Eg:Helookedatmeasif/asthoughIhadbeenmad.

YoushoulddoasIsay.

⑨引导比较状语从句

引导比较状语从句的从属连词主要有as,than

Eg:Thebuildingi$astallasthatone.

Thespeedofthesoundisnotso/asfastasthatofthelight.

I'mmoreoutgoingthanmysister.

(2)引导名词性从句

引导名词性从句的从属连词主要有that,if,whether等，在句中不作任何成分

Eg:Thereisnodoubtthatheisthewinner.

Theywonderedwhethertheywouldreachtheirgoals.
