ThepresentdocumentspecifiestestmethodstoallowtheminimumperformancerequirementsfortheacousticcharacteristicsofGSM,3GandLTEterminalswhenusedtoprovidenarrowband,wideband,super-widebandorfullbandtelephonytobeassessed.
TheobjectivefornarrowbandservicesistoreachaqualityascloseaspossibletoITU-TstandardsforPSTNcircuits.However,duetotechnicalandeconomicfactors,therecannotbefullcompliancewiththegeneralcharacteristicsofinternationaltelephoneconnectionsandcircuitsrecommendedbytheITU-T.

1 Scope
Thepresentdocumentisapplicabletoanyterminalcapableofsupportingnarrowband,wideband,super-widebandorfullbandtelephony,eitherasastand-aloneserviceorasthetelephonycomponentofamultimediaservice.ThepresentdocumentspecifiestestmethodstoallowtheminimumperformancerequirementsfortheacousticcharacteristicsofGSM,3GandLTEterminalswhenusedtoprovidenarrowband,wideband,super-widebandorfullbandtelephonytobeassessed.
