本单元的主题是“道德与美德”，涉及四个环节，分别为“听说”、“读思"、“听讲”、“读写”。本课为第二部分，是一篇阅读，是关于林巧稚博士的一篇人物介绍，针对林巧稚女士的背景、学历、工作经历和所做贡献以时间顺序阐述说明，培养学生高阶思维能力，使学生带入其中，思考人生选择，并在主人公身上找到共鸣，找到自己坚守一生的准则。

学情分析

授课对象为某中学高三班学生39人。该班学生整体外向、开朗、思维活跃。除了个别英语成绩比较突出外，大部分学生处于中等水平。在39名学生中，有4名学生入校时英语为零基础，但是两年的学习之后，已经具备了初级的英语功底。整体看，该班学生能用英语提取信息、处理信息，简单表达自己的观点，但是运用英语连贯地描述事件、阐释意义和批判评价的能力都比较弱。

教学目标

经过本课的学习，学生能够:

1.提取语篇大意，运用不同阅读方法总结和归纳文中关于林巧稚博士的相关信息。

2.通过活动，基于自主学习与小组合作学习，掌握文章体裁，对文本从不同角度进行分析和深度解读。

3.基于所读文本，推断和概括林巧稚作为医生的优秀品质，并发表个人观点。

学习准备:学生课前已经自学新单词，并预习课文。
