CourseDescription:

PersonalDevelopmentisanimperativecourseonthecurriculumofgradeonestudentsonISECprogrammes.Thiscourseaimstoguidestudentstofullyunderstandthemselves,sothatstudentshaveaclearplanfortheirfuturedevelopment,setupthecorrectvalues,andimprovetheirpersonalperformanceandcompetitivenessfromtheperspectiveofpersonaldevelopmentcombinedwithprofessionallearningandcareerplanning.

Throughthestrategiesandskillsprovidedinthiscourse,studentscanclarifytheirpersonalgoals,determinethemostappropriatepersonaldevelopmentplanaccordingtotheiractualsituation,identifytheirstrengthsandweaknessesintheprocessofgrowth,improvetheirabilitiesofself-management,interpersonalcommunicationandteamcooperation,andcultivatestudents'abilitytothinkandsolveproblemsfromdifferentangles,soastoextendtheirthinkingandenhancetheircareerprospects,andultimatelyshapethefutureofstudents.

Allstudentsparticipatinginthecoursemustattendtheclassontime.Anyexcusedabsencemustbediscusseddirectlywiththeteacher.Beinglatetoclasswithin10minuteswillberecordedas1LATEandbeinglateover10minuteswillberecordedas1ABSENCE.2LATESequalto1ABSENCE.20%absencesofthetotalteachinghourswillcauseafailinggradedirectly.Foreachunexcusedabsence,1pointswillbededucted.

ParticipationPolicy

Participationgradewillbegrantedonthebasisofstudents’activityinclassdiscussions,readinesstocooperatewiththeteacherandpeerstudents,andself-disciplineinobeyingclassrules.

Policyonlearningtasksubmission

Studentsshouldcompletethehomeworkontimeandcompletely.Assignmentsshouldbesubmittedonthedatespecifiedbytheinstructor.Ifstudentscannothandinhomeworkontime,areasonablereasonwillbeneeded.Lateassignmentswillreceiveamaximumgradeof70.Anassignmentthatislatefor5dayswillbecorrectedbutreceive0.

Plagiarism

AnyformofcheatingisNEVERtolerated.Anystudentcaughtcheatingonanassignment,essayorexaminationwillreceivea0forthatparticularwork.Atthebeginningofthesemesterthedefinitionofplagiarismwillbecarefullyexplained.Ifstudentshaveanydoubtconcerningwhatconstitutesplagiarism,itisadvisabletoconsulttheiradvisor.

Whenanythoughtsorwritingsofanotherpersonareused,thesourcesmustbeclearlyidentified(usingquotes,bibliographyandgivingreference).
