Note:Notallrobotshavetohaveallsixcharacteristics.Forexample,some

robotsdon'tneedtomanipulatethings,sotheyhavenomanipulatingcharacteristics.

robotmaybeabletosenseitsenvironmentusingbothavisionsystemandsonar.

Althoughtherobotdoesnotphysicallyexaminethepatient,itallowsface-to-

facecontactbetweenthedoctorandpatient,providingimmediateaccessto

specialists.

Ourrobotscertainlywouldneverreplacealldoctorsonwardrounds,buttheyare

acommunicationtoolwhichallowsdoctorstohavedirectcontactwiththeirpatients
